What's happened to Hayemaker Promotions, is Groves the only fighter on their books now? They put on a decent bill in March at the Echo Arena but heard nothing from them since.

No TV deal since Setanta went broke. Shame really, a few of his fighters have gone to Hatton, and a few to Maloney.

They've definitely still got Woodhouse, he is fighting Graham Earl in Hull in a few weeks, not sure who else is left.

It is a shame, as I know he was going to base his operation in Liverpool and had some decent local fighters like Joe McNally and John Watson. Both of whom haven't fought since March. Any news on who promotes those two fighters?

It will be nice to see him back out fighting again.

Alexander Sipos would be a good opponent.

groves is shit

very limited

he won't go past euro level

Limited ffs its to early to say how far he can go but on the evidence so far he looks the best prospect(under 10 fights) in the uk.

Good for him, its a good step to take at this stage.

No point in getting a 10 rounder and putting a bum infront of him though. They'll have to get somebody with the possibility to hang in there.

I disagree.

And even if he does become European champ but then goes no further who are you to say that that "is shit"?

Give the kid a break and opportunity to prove himself before slagging him off.

I would like to see him in more fights like his last one, total shutouts without trying to go for the KO
Potential opponent

Philippe Mendy 5-13-2, never been KOd (got a draw against Belghecham)

Groves-Salem will be very good fight early next year. Take Groves to win.
Hayemaker's future totally depends on Haye's performance on November 7.
If he knocks down Valuev Hayemaker will get tv deal.

I reckon Groves would beat DeGale.

Sidthehat I wouldnt say hayemaker would get a TV deal, ****** left Setanta due to

A. A wider platform to show his fighters
B. Khan PPV
C. Hayemaker Getting a TV deal with Setanta

I could see ****** spitting his dummy out again should the Hayemaker fighters(not may of them) getting a deal

I think Hayemaker should get a TV deal. Groves , Lindsay and Ryan Rhodes would all be exciting fighters for Sky to showcase or whoever takes the Hayemaker and add to that Haye himself. It is a shame that Setanta went tits up as Haye was building a top stable of fighters. I think Hayemaker will have a better chance of getting a tv deal ahead of Hennessy.

There wouldnt be anywhere to go and With Sky having contracts With ****** (Olyimpians and other fighters + Khan on PPV), Maloney, Matchroom, Hatton where would the Hayemaker Stable fit in to the schedule?

leighton

Of course there is room. You dont have to put them all on Friday night. Sky have 4 stations on the go not all will have live sport on it at all times. You could have either promotion on a Saturday night or even Sunday night fuck it if the promotors were offered any night on Sky at this time they would take it. I remember Maloney had Sutherland's first fight on a Thursday night there is always room for all the promotions on Sky if they wanted to show them.:good

I thought George Groves is being promoted by Maloney now and being managed by Hayemaker?

how do you work that out? who should he be fighting in his 8th fight.

this guy only looses to people with winning records. The only person to stop him in Victor Oganov who is a beat of a puncher.

GrovesVDegale

It's actually only his 7th fight and to compare, Oganov was fighting for the 23rd time when he beat this guy. I'm pretty impressed myself.

I disagree. The guy's only been stopped once by Victor Oganov, and look at the names he's taken the distance - Sergey Tatevosyan, David Gogiya, Karoly Balzsay, Cristian Sanavia, been 12 with a cople of other undefeated guys. A legit super-middle aswell, and guarenteed rounds in the bag for Groves.

At least a winning record. Someone with SOME domestic class maybe. He could be going for the English title.

Huge amateur pedigree. We let guys progress too slow.

My words are a bit harsh but I'm frustrated from so many bad fights.

I want to see competative bouts.

What we do to the amateurs is bad. Sure they need to learn the pro game BUT guys like DeGale are used to fighting elite fighters non stop. Not journeyman after journeyman. I think it possibly makes them regress.

Got to step them up quicker like MMA. Sink or swim. If they sink, it's not the end of their career. If they swim then we know we got genuine talent and we are basing our opinions on something real.
