Interesting, both still at peak confidence and with destroyers' auras.
I assume Donald's moving up? If that's the case, I like him by late ref stoppage after Vargas beats several counts.

If it's Fernando cutting down to welter, that makes me slightly nervous. At the years given though, he'd probably be the less comfortable. So ultimately, same result.
Xplosive, where's the poll?

Forgot to make a poll.
And I wasnt talking about Vargas moving down, I was talking about Curry moving up. If Curry had moved up to 154 he woulda been better off in his career. He was a BIG welterweight, who struggled to make 147 after awhile. There were several times during his title reign where he fought at 154, and he looked devestating.

Curry most likely by a wide decision.

You can still add a poll, dude. Go to "thread tools" in the upper right hand corner of your first post. :good

To tell you the truth pre-Tito Vargas gets a little underrated..He was a quality talent with some sold wins.
People are quick to say he gets stopped in such matches. But anyone who can take that sort of punishment from prime Tito whilst pushing him all the way has to be considered a pretty tough and decent fighter. That fight totally ruined him.
To the point though...Curry is a hell of a lot better and I see him quite clearly winning this one of points.

Speed kills. Curry wasnt quite as powerful as Tito, but his punches were faster and more accurate. For that reason I see him stopping Nando. Vargas was ALWAYS a sucker for left hooks, and Curry's left hook was a thing of beauty.
But you are correct. Pre-Tito, Vargas was a VERY good fighter. Its just that Curry in his brief prime was a GREAT fighter. Nando's ONLY edge over Curry would be physical strength, but that wouldnt be enough to make up for the differance in speed, skill, and overall class.
