Could Bonavena outmuscle the big strong man Carnera?

Please explain reasoning on prediction. Please give result of prediction.

First round bout. 10 Rounds.

bonavena wins this one. he is to tough to get ko'ed by carnera and his overall skills are way better then carnera's. i would say oscar by UD

Bonavena would break him down in my opinion. Not methodically, more like a kick the shit out of him for 10 rounds affair.

My guess is that Carnera would probably win by UD.

Carnera knew how to use his size and had good textbook skills. He was also prety consistent in his level of performence at his best.

Carnera climbed the heavyweight ranks to get a shot at the title mainly by beating fighters like Art Lasky and King Levinsky who were punchers like, and in some ways unlike Bonavena.

I think that at this stage of his career if you had matched him with Bonavena with the winner getting Sharkey he would probably have pulled off the win.

this is a close fight carnera was no slouch on his feet and had a more than useful left .the ten round distance i feel would favour carnera ,if this fight was over 12 or 15 i would just i think go for bonavena to finish stronger and take a decision but over ten carnera just gets a decision win possibly a split decsion

I like Oscar but he actually had a style that brought out the best in Primo ... in addition, Primo had so much more heart I might give him the nod in a decision ..

Primo takes this decision. He had the jab, mobility and stamina to keep this one mostly at long range, over ten, 12 or 15 rounds. In close, he would have been strong enough to muscle Bonavena to a standstill. This represents no kind of picnic for him though, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ringo forced Carnera to get off the deck sometime in the process.

I am not a fan of Primo, but I can see him taking a decision here, though he might have to come off the floor from one of Oscar's wild ,clubbing rights.

I consider Primo one of the worst of the Heavyweight champs but I think he had enough to beat Bonavena. Primo had the jab, had a decent punch and was strong enough to clinch...Louis and Baer had the speed and punch factor, Oscar was strong and wild but Primo takes a UD

Bonavena stops carnera in 7. Bottom line Baer was very crude(although very strong)and he slaughtered carnera. BOnavena gave fraizer all he wanted was up there with the greatest heavyweight era ever Carnera would keep him at bay early but Bonavena would eventually break down the ampling alp down and stop him in 7

Good match up. I like Bonavena. Carnera could take body shot all day long, but lacked a good chin.
