I know its a huge step up in class for Murray, but do you think he has what it takes to defeat a arguably shot Casamayor? :think

No. I don't actually see Murray being better than Katsidis. I think Casamayor knocks him out. I'm convinced he's still got something left in the tank, enough to beat Murray anyway. I'm doubt Murray can handle an experienced, slick southpaw like Casamayor, who knows all the tricks in the bag, is still reasonably durable and can pack some power in that left hand.

Unless he's too shot to even show up then no chance in hell.

Depends how done Casa is. If he had enough to beat Katsidis then Murray ain't walking away with the W. He'll be crawling away with the L.
Casamayor hasn't been looking great and he's only getting worse. Depends how much his movement is impacted, if he can still move and counterpunch he'd give Murray a lot of problems. If not I think a young, hungry guy like Murray would outlast and outwill him. You wouldn't exactly bet your life on Casamayor beating Katsidis again at this point.

I think Murray would be able to wear down Casamayor and stop him in a entertaining fight. He would never beat a prime Casa we all know this but fact is Casa legs aren't what they were and he's now showing signs of wear and tear and i think Murray would be frustrated at first but as fight goes on he get to Casa and break his heart. Murray would have to still eat some shots against old Casamayor but he get the 'W' imo. We must remember he beat Katsidis but that and the Marquez fight will have taken a lot from the tank. Plus the fact a raw Katsidis was for some winning the fight up and till the stoppage.

That's probably because Katsidis seems to have improved at least a bit since then. But Murray has always struggled a bit with boxers, McAllister gave him problems early, same with Scott Lawton the first couple of rounds, even a shot Thaxton out-boxed him the first round before he stopped moving and started trading.

Casa is far too cagey and hits hard

Just want to add that a lot depends on where the fight is fought as well. Over here i could see the ref allowing some rather crude work from Murray.

Yeah i know :yep but Murray i could see employing the Hatton maul and brawl style at higher level and i could see the ref allowing it where as in U.S he wouldn't get anywhere near doing it without facing consequences.

obviously he wouldn't nut him like that :patsch it's just funny to think of him doing it blatantly.
It was a half joking comment GP. Anyways doubt he come here to fight anyways so it's all to be played out in the mind.

:yep i would sit back and enjoy that combo just because it's someone like him doing it .
I hope so GP. I just had look on boxrec he fought Santos in main event. Looking at his boxrec he's lined up to fight Jason Davis so he's coming back with a nice fight over 8 rounds. I wasn't aware of this fight...nice to see Casa back in action.

i meant Sabta Cruz and it was Mosley vvs Cotto undercard
Casa should have it easy but hopefully we see him back soon
A Shot Casamoyar stops Murray. Comon! Do you think Murray will be allowed to march foward flat footed and in straight lines against a fighter like Casa???

If Cas is really shot then Murray has a chance.

I would say Casamayor is as close to shot as you can get without actually being shot, so Murray would certainly have a chance, IMO. The issues that Casa has are three fold. Firstly, his legs are gone. He used to always be just a step ahead of his opponents, just that little bit out of range. These days he has to stand right in front of them. His style, in that sense, has changed radically. Secondly, stamina issues. He looked good against both Katsidis and Marquez early on, but as the fight developed it didn't look like Casa had much in the tank, and was just going through the motions. Thirdly, there has to be a question mark over his punch resistance now, given his age and his recent KO loss.
Unfortunately, and even though the step up in class would be huge, I do think Murray would probably beat Casa at this stage. Casa doesn't like pressure fighters, never has. Likes them even less now that his legs have gone. Prime Casa would obviously school Murray, but this version would have some success early on, sweep the first few rounds, and then is just outworked for the rest when he runs out of gas. I can see a Murray UD, although there is always a chance Casa's left hook lands flush and its lights out for Murray.
