you never know. that fight put literally no mileage on him.
Well, based on "name value," there aren't many people you can put against Carwin and call it a mainevent. Cain and Carwin would be a damn good fight, but the UFC can't sell a PPV to the casual fans on it. Sadly, Couture vs. Carwin would get more buzz (despite being far less important to the heavyweight landscape, and despite Couture's apparent move to 205).
Also, I'm under the belief that the UFC kept Cain and Carwin away from each other so that they can throw them both against Lesnar, one after the other. Besides those two and Dos Santos, they don't have many hot prospects that they can turn into contenders. The division is rankled with gatekeepers and has-beens.

I disagree.
3 huge prospects in Carwin, Cain and JDS. Matched by legendary vets in Nog and Mir.
Brock is on top. If Mir beats Kongo then he can begin to place himself for the trilogy against Brock. Nog deserves the Brock fight. Carwin, Cain and JDS can all be built towards the Brock fight.
Which other divisions has 3 huge undefeated prospects on the path towards the title?

This sucks this card has potential now its headlined by Forrest-Ortiz II which IMO isnt enough.

They need to get Carwin a decent replacement fight. The bill is losing strength.

Yea, but the extra training is what does it in the first place.

Yea... training drains you more than the actual fight. Maybe not in Noguiera's case but generally that's the truth.

I disagree. Training is controlled and not full pelt, even if hurt there are no follow ups, no one looking for the knockout, if cut you stop. There is no holding back in a fight, follow up damage once hurt, cuts get worse because fights aren't stopped immediately etc
Training can drain the body but it's the continous heavy blows to the head and body that fucks up the brain and organs.
It's all about how the fights are and it can depend on style. Hopkins can go forever. Nog has a fighting age of 138.
Back in the day (I'm alluding to boxing), Cain would be back in the ring after 5 weeks or so.

Im not interested in seeing Carwin vs any other heavyweight other than Lesnar at the moment. If they postpone it, let them it will be the best.

Yeah, Ortiz/Grif II isn't a headliner at this point. They need to pull something else together for this card.

I honestly think Randy, Nog or Mir could expose Carwin.

They'll go with the card as is, minus Lesnar/Carwin and just jump the fight back a month. I think they want Carwin/Lesnar, no matter what.
Maybe they could see if Mir/Nog II could be done.

I wonder if his sickness has actually something to do with the removal of the steroid traces from his body.
p.s. Overeem is not the only one to be bashed about it. :-)
i really hope they just push the fight back,i really want to see this fight.carwin is one of the few in the ufc that can match up with brock physically
