Anybody seen him? Does he have a shot to make it out of Belarus?

He clearly has it in him. Good fighter with an underrated toughness. However, he needs to step up in competition the way both Romanov and Gulyakevich did before.

Did you watch Gulyakevich's shot at Gutierrez's title in the Mexican's backyard?
Sergej would probably have won that fight outside Mexico.
In the 6th (? not really sure anymore) round Sergej seemed to be on the way to score a ko victory over the Mexican brawler who cant hold a candle to Sergej in terms of pure skills and talent.
Anyway! It was a tremendously entertaining fight,a bloody battle between two warriors.
Tajbert will have to run faster than Ottke in order to be victorious over the Mexican.
By the way Tajbert vs Gulyakevich was pure fun to watch, too.
Here a short mexican version of their encounter, very biased of course.

Thanks for a clip but I've wathced the whole story live through ******. I scored it a draw and I'm totally ensured that it was Sergey's fault that he hadn't taken the title. He had all the tools but he was too reluctant to use them in the first half of the fight. He did get better down the stretch but it was too late to turn back the tide...

I,too,watched their entire encounter then.
I cant remember the exact round anymore (6h??) ,but at one moment of the fight I tought that he was going to finish the mexican off.Sergej hurt him slighly and could land some good shots but wasnt able to follow up and give it a serious try.
Anyway! It was an outstandingly entertaining fight to watch, and so was his encounter with Tajbert, who soon will get a shot at Gutierrez.
By the way I still think that Gulyakevich would have won that fight outside Mexico.
Of course I am very biased:D
Belarus deserves a world champ, too( in the paid ranks of pro boxing).

Missed opportunity,stalker!
Did you watch Tajbert dethrone Gutierrez? Tajbert showed an impressive performance outboxing his Mexican foe quite easily at times.
Gulyakevich beat Tajbert, and could have beaten the Mexican quite easily, too.
He wanted to duke it out with the Mexican, and at times he had the upper hand and connected with some good shots, but he didnt take into consideration that he was fighting on his opponent's home turf.
I very much hope that there will be a rematch between Tajbert and Gulyakevich.Their first encounter was very entertaining and much fun to watch.
