An Olympic Goldmedalist ainīt no clubfighter nor a joke but he definitly has some problems with his chin. I doubt he will achieve more than he already did.

Exactly. Who CARES whether Fraudley won a gold medal?? He has already proven he doesn't have what it takes in PRO boxing.:yep
Maybe if he could still wear headgear into the ring he wouldn't get LAID OUT COLD by feather-fisted journeymen!

His chin ain't great, but if it's as bad as Zakman claims, what the hell does that say about Guinn, Williams, Bonin, Davis, Wiggins, Hersisia, and the other cats who couldn't KO Harrison.
I don't get the hate for boxers some of you guys show. I'm not a Harrison fan, but I don't get off on him getting KO'd.

Audley probably wears a football helmet with a hard chin strap when he eats his Wheaties in the morning to avoid knocking himself the fuck out by accidentally tapping his chin with the spoon

What do you know, a man who's never put on gloves in his life is insulting an Olympic Gold Medalist. Audley isn't a very good pro and was way too old when he turned pro; but as an amateur he was obviously good enough to be a Gold Medalist.
Oh, and btw; the headgear doesn't do anything to protect you from getting stopped or hurt in the amateurs; it's the way amateur gloves are constructed. But I wouldn't expect you to know that, Zak.

Imagine what would happen if he tried to break one of his Wheaties in half with the spoon, and the Wheatie shot off and hit him in the chin?

he's nothing of the sort I'm afraid, he's a great fighter who got caught with one of the biggest left hooks of all time and the ref stopped it early....Aud was good to go.

Boxing history is RIDDLED with amateurs who didn't pan out as pros. Back in '84, do you know who the most hyped fighter on the U.S. Olympic team was? Holyfield? Whitaker?? Nope. It was Mark Breland!! That's fine that Fraudley did well as an amateur, but he doesn't have the chin - or the heart - to handle the pro game. Period, end of paragraph.
And if you are seriously telling me that headgear does NOTHING to protect fighters from punches, I can only say that is, as Mr. Spock would say, utterly illogical. Sure, the gloves may also be a factor, but to say that headgear has no impact in protecting fighters from getting KTFO?? That's a dubious assertion to say the least.
Anyway, I think we can all agree that whether it's gloves or headgear, the plain fact is that Fraudley can't take a punch in the pros - which is EXACTLY the point of this thread!:yep

You bring up Mark Breland... not sure why, he didn't have a stellar career, but it was a pretty decent one.
He was a World Champ. No matter what you say about the guy won't take that away, any guy who wins a real title (the major 3) is no slouch. They can always call themselves champ.
Which is more than Zakman can ever say about himself.

His chin is very bad, but I still think that Jaidon Codringtons is worse. So if Audley Harrisons chin is grade A china, what is Jaidons?(that is, if you agree with my assesment).

We aren't going to stop judging them as athletes who are making millions of dollars, in Fraudley's case that was well undesevered, along with his ridiculous hype.
Your endless political correctness gets old, boxers should be judged on a rigorous standard, as should all of society, it would actually help in sorting out mediocrity from performance.

Fraudley deserves no respect, a 'glass jawed' fighter who is respectful, humble and honest deserves immense amounts of respect and especially if they overcome the chin problems enough to compete at a high level, then that's highly deserving of respect.
I respect plenty of them.
Fraudley was an arrogant, overhyped and overpaid fraud, end of story.

If his chin was as bad as you say, why did it take so long to get starched?
Then again, why am I debating with you, you don't use logic, you use revisionist history and hypotheticals to make opinions you state as fact.

Then why am I more than often correct?
And he didn't get starched because for the longest time he fought guys with C and D level ability and he fought specifically tenative to avoid getting hit, especially in the case of the Guinn fight.
Furthermore, he'd never been cracked fully flush by anyone remotely considered a hitter in the 'ranked' level until Sprott wound that shot up and landed it on him, due to him fighting scared.

I would think the fact that headgear doesn't protect the chin, and in most instances not even the face, would stand out. Headgear is in place to prevent cuts and injuries from head butts. It does nothing to lessen the concussion the brain receives from being punches (that's one of the reasons the AIBA is considering removing headgear).
And the reason Mark Breland was so highly touted coming out of the Olympics was because he was something to the effect of 110-2 or so as an amateur. That'll get anybody noticed.

Fraudley versus Grant! Even Don King would choke trying to sell that one.
He looks absolutely clueless there - the Olympics must have really sucked that year.

he's greatly physically talented. however he's fairly worthless in the chin department and confidence department go. too bad really.
That was a hell of a shot, with a nice long swing to get Sprott's whole weight behind it. Audley was stupid to leave himself so open to it, as if Sprott wasn't going to hit him back, but it doesn't make him china-chinned.
I'm still a fan of the dude, albeit a disappointed one, and he's going at it properly it seems fighting low-key and for peanuts, to try to get himself back up. I reckon he can still win at least the British title, and that would mean something, even if it wouldn't mean he could beat Wlad!
