Had a chance to chat with Mat Brooks today and asked some questions a few on here I knew would want answers to.
* SKY WILL be showing Darchinyans next fight, was confirmed over the weekend.
* Canvas Classics will stay in its half hour format until the end of the year. The choice was to either cut it to half an hour or drop it completely. Mat realises this is not ideal and would rather show the whole fight but his hands are tied.
* Will be showing some fights from HBOs Boxing After Dark over the coming months, including Diaz-Malignaggi.
* Finally, and just as an aside, I asked him whether SKY will ever go back to the glory days and show full cards, even reminisced about Transponder 8 (Remember that?). I didn't expect him to say yes but he told me its definitely in SKYs future plans, a lot hinges on SKY getting another channel, which has been in the works for over a year now. Around March was the date he was given on a decision on a second SKY but will probably take longer than that.
If, however a second SKY channel is launched, expect a LOT more boxing.
