How will he achieve it? :think

Hatton's trainer will have come up with a good gameplan..but we will not know it until fightnight- will it be a Nigel Benn style war to get PBF away from his gameplan?

Floyd's chin is v good- he has never been in REAL trouble but has looked very uncomfortable when fighters have managed to connect with combos

Styles make fights- does Hatton have a punch or a move that PBF cannot deal with?

Or is Hatton's only hope a crunching body shot to the liver?

Wont happen, I cant even picture it.

More than likely its the body shot that can do it. Would be cool to see a repeat of that left hook that floore Maussa.

Hatton has never had a reputation as a one punch KO specialist with punches to the head, and that was at at light welter. At full weterweight, I don't believe he will have the power to KO Mayweather with a head punch.
Body shots are a different matter though, and Mayweather will not like them. Hatton will get plenty of opportunities to land good punches, the only question is will he land enough?

If he does KO Mayweather it'll be on that left hook body shot behind the elbow. The same punch he got Castillo with only at a closer distance.

I don't like the way this is gonna break down though. They are fighting in Mayweather's backyard and I have a sick feeling it's gonna be Nady or some other buffoon who won't let Hatton wrestle. Just like how Ruiz was setup against Jones.

If Hatton is allowed to jump in and work inside, then he has a solid shot at winning this. I don't believe Mayweather's slight size difference is gonna matter. Hatton is the stronger guy here. And he is small enough and compact enough to get that shot in behind Mayweather's elbow at some point in the fight.

But if he is constantly pushed back by the ref and the close combat isn't allowed to happen, Mayweather potshots his way to an easy victory.

spot on- its about money and future fights, the ref makes all the difference- I remember a certain Richard Steele fight...

If Floyd is overlooking Hattons ability... He could have a rude awakening if the fight gets physical..

If floyd has done his homework dilligently then he has the tools technically to walk this fight by using his very fine schooled skills..

Floyd doesn't need to make a fight of this , but if his machoism gets the better of him he may get burned.

A great fight..

Mayweather is to smart to get KOed by Hatton. Hatton has no chance to win this. Not by KO and especially not by points.

Nice post Bigcat.........Im a big Hatton fan but I know if Floyd does what he does he'll score a wide points victory , If however he gets into Rickys style of fight he could be in trouble.......
A few people are saying Hatton has no chance on the scorecards but judges can be influenced by aggresive offensive , even when its not landing effectivley , Floyd will land the slicker cleaner shots Im sure but Hatton will be milling in throwing alot of nasty "looking" shots that can influence scorecards..................A very interesting match up this........

I think that Hatton can pressure better than De La Hoya, and if Oscar got a split decision, the points spread may not be that wide. With this in mind, and the fact that Hatton has a better chance of KOing Floyd than the other way around, I definitely think that he has a chance. Whether or not it is a good chance is a tough question... I am tempted to give him 40%. I am really excited for this fight.

If he did, which is a HUGE if, it would come with a picture perfect left hook to the body. He is more likely to win a decision than by KO in my opinion.

What dumb shits dont realize is that ODH did not get a split from pressure and aggression. He won the rounds when he used the jab and had Floyd backing up on the defensive..When he tried to just come in like hatton does he got countered and he lost that round. Just a little food for the idiocy of the comments made about Hatton being a better pressure fighter. Pressure did not win ODH rounds...being effective with his jab and snapping floyds head back did. Last time I checked, a fighter that pressured floyd with no jab just got there ass whooped and stopped. Or maybe it is just me.

When floyd beats his ass in every inch of that ring. Then we will see who knows there shit. Hatton is a good fighter, but Floyd is a nightmare matchup for him..Just floyds lateral movement alone with throw hatton off his whole game plan. If floyd circles hatton.what the fuck is hatton going to do when those lead rights start to land...its hard to hold a guy that is moving and if you do try you look stupid and obvious and you will just get punched.

ODH smashed PBF with 3 or 4 awesome overhand/ straight rights, and I'M pretty sure they were harder shots (esp. @154 ODH) than anything Hatton can bring.

I'm afraid, above poster, you're wrong, at no point did DLH hit PBF with 3-4 overhand rights clean.
GLANCING possibly.

Oscar got the split because of the pro De La Hoya crowd at the fight. They cheered wildly even when he missed his shots.

Typical American Hype saying Hatton has no chance. Sounds very familiar of a young Jeff Lacy, the next Tyson who would destroy Joe Calzaghe. He got fucking smashed to bits by a far superior weathered fighter. Joe was written off as a has been slapper yet delivered the performance of a lifetime and has earned him the dream ticket over in the states. Ricky hatton is a formidable fighter just like PBF just wait to the fight and resist writing off the little Manc warrior.

Jeff Lacy was a one dimensional exciting fighter. Mayweather is proven 5 division champion that accomplished more then Lacy in 4 years..and Calzaghe too..lol...I dont get it...You brits love to bring that shit up..Lacy was not even the best at 160-175 over here. He was just a big puncher..lol CLASSIC:smooch

Sometimes elite american/south american fighters come unstuck bigtime underestimating good brit fighters, usually the unpredictable types

Donald Curry, Mclennan, Duran, and others..all top fighters who came unstuck
