No i'm not a wimp !

My nose is very tender at the moment (not broken). It's either protect it for a few weeks or not spar at all.

I'm looking at getting something like this

How good are these kind of headguards at protecting your nose ?

Not very....
The headguards are needed to reduce eye injuries which are much more common that broken noses.

Face savers are good but they will interfere with your breathing.

This is the best for overall protection and allowing you to breathe the way you'll need to breathe.

BTW, Mexican style headgear is my preferred headgear. It protects your nose and eyes and allows you to breathe but your jaw is uncovered.
