Inspired by the other thread.

First comes to mind is Hearns-Leonard 1.
Hopkins-Taylor.

How would Thrilla in Manilla have been scored over the first 12?
A number of old Ali fights come to mind.

not really, when has PBF ever shown problems with fatigue. Hatton is the one who has gotten tired.

Somebody already mentioned it but Bell/Mormeck II is a great example. Bell would still be champ cuz Mormeck was gassed midway through the fight and went on his bike after the cards were read following round 8.

and in another cruiserweight fight...

Cantatore came back against Johnny Nelson in the Entertainer's last fight winning the last 4 rounds including a knockdown. An extra 3 rounds would have probably resulted in a new champion.

It's possible that if Pacquiao-Marquez went 15, Marquez could have got the decision

It's fun to think about how different boxing would be and how history would have played out had championship fights remained at 15 rounds.

yeah i'll come and post around major fight time with you and notb. although i'm going to super joe - kessler and there's too much emotion tied up in that fight so i'll either be crying into my post or weeping with joy a few days later.

indeed, i saw m saunter off into the dim sunset (again) and dougal throw another hissy fit then not actually leave.

sorry other esb posters for ot crap, see ya round carlos.

Julio Cesar Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor - I think the bout would'nt have been stopped at the end of the 12th round the way it was and Taylor would have gotten finished off more difinitively in the 13th and possibly damaged even more than he is now.

Collazo vs Hatton - Ricky would have been ko'd between 13th-15th rnds. Collazo just had his number all night long.

Calzaghe was in trouble in that last round against Eubank, but Eubank was horrendously weight-drained in that fight, I doubt he could have kept that up for 3 more rounds.

The fight that springs to mind most is Hagler-Leonard but one of the judges had Leonard 118-110 after 12 rounds in that fight as I recall so Hagler would have had to win the last 3 rounds big to win it as there was obviously a bought judge in the house that night.

One I think would have been different after 15 rounds would be Eastman V Joppy, Eastman should have got the decision after 12 and was coming on strong at the end....3 more rounds and it would have been UD Eastman in my opinion.

Margarito /Williams: Paul was starting to struggle and AM was starting to find his range more.

I agree..i dont think people gave Margo much credit for that performance. He started to really impose his will on Paul in the second half of the fight and began hitting him on a regular basis. I was never really impessed with Margarito but after that fight he earned my respect- with the exception of him beeing a sore looser.

Bruno - McCall.

Bruno was out on his feet in the 12th and just hung on for a decision.
If there had been one more round, McCall would have TKO'd him in the 13th.

Id also agree with the Williams-Margarito fight. Margarito didnt really become effective till around round 8. Williams did take many solid pnuches, and I think the body punches finally slowed him down a bit.

You forget that it was Margarito who lost the final round. If anything, Williams showed us something by regrouping after the 11th to come back and pull the fight out in the 12th. Margarito did next to nothing in the round he absolutely needed so I'm not buying that he would have done much in the next 3 had it been a 15 rounder.

I said Wlad-Peter. Not Peter-Toney or Peter-Shufford. Did you see the Wlad-Peter fight?

Morales vs Barrera 3. Morales would have killed Barrera if the fight had one more round. Barrera was beaten basically bent over and kept holding on to Morales like his life depended on it.
