This is a tough one? The Douglas that fought Tyson would be hard for anyone to beat. That Douglas wins a decision over Thomas. The Douglas who fought Tucker would get stopped BY THomas in 8. I think both versions of Douglas were prime Douglas,I just think that the one who fought Tyson showed determination and Heart. Whats your take. Oh yeah im referring to the Pinklon THomas who beat Witherspoon and Weaver not the one who lost to Berbick.

You know, reading this place sometimes you'd think there were six versions walking around of everybody.

 I was thinking the same thing.
Anyway, I think Douglas had more all-around skills than Pinklon and beats him on points.

Buster by decision, as My2Sense says, Buster had better overall skills.

Both good technicians, something that makes a lot of the fighters of the mid to late 80's guys stand out for me. I dont think the Douglas that showed up for Tucker was in poor condition other than quitting mentally. Douglas was ahead in the fight and just seemed to quit??
The Douglas that fought Ferguson was in pretty poor shape, but I would give Thomas at his best a good shot. Pickem for me.

James Douglas was probably a tad more multi-dimensional in terms of having all around boxing ability, but somehow I still think Pinklon manages to win.

Douglas at his best (Tyson in Japan) was better than anything Thomas ever showed in the ring............... A good match, but I'll go with B.D. to outbox Pinky Thomas.......... Cheers.....

The Tokyo Douglas wins on points. His right cross would make the difference.

The best version of Douglas had mobility over Thomas, who was no slouch in the chin and skills department. Douglas by close decision for me.
BTW - The best version of Thomas I ever saw was in August 1984 against Spoon.
