Don King wants to keep this date and wants to put his fighter Rahman with Peter. He will aplayed in the monday in the WBC organisation and will get answer for one or two days. Also McCall wants shot but WBC will tell last words in the coming days.

Intruging fight and not to bad sense the Champ doesnt wanna fight Peter so let the former WBC Champ step in and get his chance.

Not a bad fight - obviously Oliver McCall, David Tua, and Vladimir Virchis deserve the shot more and would make for better fights, but the bottom line is, if they do chose Rahman to face Peter on the 6th, this fight is better than no fight.
Peter by early KO

Peter is going to annihilate the glass-jawed Rahman. This is a "marking time" type fight that adds a recognizable opponent to his ledger, that's all.

It would do, Rahman is still ranked in the top ten by two or three of the boxing orgs...
But he's still not gotten his championship shape back yet.
On the other hand, if Peter was to be out of shape than Rahman might have a chance behind that long jab of his even if he's heavy...thinking Rahman-Tua II here.
Should be Peter by KO though. And I'd rather they went for McCall.

He's being brought in to serve as cannon fodder for Peter.
The only real question in this fight is whether Rahman'll get knocked the f*ck right out of the ring again, or if he'll just get knocked out.

If this fight happens I seriously do not see Glass Jaw Rahman making it out of the 3rd round. It would be hilarious to see Rahman knocked out for about the 10th time. LOL.

Nah, Rahman struggled with Taurus Sykes recently. Peter would probably put too much pressure on him and would be too much to handle. I wouldn't be surprised if this ended in the 1st or 2nd.

I think Rahman has been really successful in his boxing career.
No amateur career, nowhere else to go, he's made the best of things, and won the WBC belt twice.
He has a bad jaw, fair enough, but don't ridicule the man.

Regardless of why Rahman is being pressed to get the fight is not important. The fact is that if he gets the fight, he has a chance to win the interim title, and Rahman clearly don't deserve that, period. Also, he most certianly don't deserve it, when you have McCall wanting it, and who is ranked just below Peter, and who has already been promised a WBC titleshot.
F*** King and Rahman. They don't deserve this fight. Give it to someeone who does deserve it;
McCall or Virchis, period. Giving this titleshot to anyone else is wrong.

Oh, I agree with you on the merits - someone like McCall or Virchis SHOULD get the shot.
But Rahman, with his fragile whiskers, produces some spectacular KOs. Seeing him rendered unconscious again will produce excitement! Will he get starched in the middle of the ring again, or will he get knocked right the hell out of the ring again?? Aren't ya the least bit interested?:huh:D

Rahman dont deserve the shot, he got a little rocked against Sykes a couple months back whos a C type fighter at best what do you think a fighter like Peter will do to him.
Jennifer Love Hewitt
09-22-2007, 02:21 PM
I think Rahman deserves the shot based on that he was the last wbc belt holder.
I also think that some people are over estimating Peter. Yeah, I think that Peter can knock out Rahman, but Peter is a really bad boxer. Really bad. I think Peter's power is VERY overrated as well. It's good, but he has yet to KO anyone that is not a bum. Rahman manged to survive against Tua in thier rematch. Tua is light years ahead of Peter in terms of actually delivering that power shot.
On the flip side, Rahman is on the decline. Peter has a very good chance to KO him.
I think I'd rather see McCall fight Peter. McCall has done more to desrve the shot in recent days, plus his chin is seeminly indestructable.
I'd also like to add that there should be no "interem" fight. Just give the belt to the winner. It's fairly obvious that Maskaev has no interest in defending the title against anyone with a pulse. He's done nothing but postpone since winning that belt. Strip him and do it now.

Not a good Situation for rahman at the moment because hes far from his best shape and he cant get in best shape in just 2 weeks. If i would be Rahman i would not make it. Tua is in a much better position to do that, his weight is down and is most definately back in training already for his next fight.

guys i am going to go out on a limb here and say rahman outboxes peter for a 12 round decision. peter showed he can be outboxed (toney - he won the first fight, wlad), rahman has outboxed strong punchers before (look up tua 1 and 2). I just really dont buy into sam peter at all sorry. and i see rahman getting up for this one.

For a Klistchko fan it doesn't make Wlad look too good when u call one of his biggest scalps a one trick pony but then again Klitschko fans aren't exactly the brightest people to begin with. Rahman would be lucky to make it to the 7th or 8th round against Peter.

Loser, I don't care what you think of my prediction.
Rahman has a much better resumé than Peter does and he will make Peter look like the amateur he is. Hasim has a very good jab, not on the level of Wlad or Lewis, but it's up there and Peter ain't got shit. He hasn't even KO'd a single top ten opponent....................Jeremy Williams is Peter's best scalp - so fuckin' what?!
BTW, I don't think Peter is one of Wladimir's biggest scalps either......................Byrd, Mercer, Austin & Brock have all achieved more than Peter has to this point.
Yes I said Austin, at least he has a "draw" vs. a current beltholder named Ibragimov. Peter has one questionable win & one def. win vs. a fat former middleweight who has been on roids and should've lost his next fight against a tomato can named Batchelder.

We can agree that Klitschko or Chagaev beat Peter, but Hasim Rahman, on 2 weeks notice, after struggling a ton with Taurus Sykes - looking slower than Peter, not throwing his jab, getting stunned by Sykes - would probably get KO'd. His chin is not terribly hard to find and Peter is so strong and so determined that he would have a field day with this Rahman. Peter hasn't KO'd a top 20 guy, but there is a first time for everything.

Very close fight, I've re-scored it twice and I think I had it 114-113 Toney one time and 114-113 Peter.
7-5 either way is a good score I think. A draw would be good too, but with the point deduction for Peter, Toney wins in that scenario.

I thought the fight could have gone either way. The scorecards were a little wide but the premise was correct. Fights like those are hard to score. Gun to my head I'd say Toney nicked it cuz of the point deduction but other than that it was close. Not the robbery many claim it was.

As far as Peter fouling Wlad if you watch all 3 knockdowns Wlad started to panic and put his down and tried clinch, anybody that has boxed before will tell you never turn your back in a fight and if you do thats your problem. Besides the one were Wlad fell of the ropes to his knees wasnt a rabbit punch, yeah I guess you think it was unfair when Joe Frazier turned his back against Foreman and got hit in the back of the head?
Very good fight but is Rahman ready for a fight like this?, he's going to get knocked out in my opinion and brutally.
you must have very low expectations.
You think Rahman will win it?
peter will outhug him.
With Rahman's defense a knockout is nearly guaranteed here, Rahman WILL exhange at some points and the more he does it the more he gets dazed till the KO comes. Might be wrong though, we'll see.

Call me crazy, but if Rahman manages to get his fight (which he don't deserve), I think he'll re-aquire his WBC title that Oleg took from him............
And then that means we'll finally get to see Vitali Klitschko vs. Hassim Rahman sometime next year.
Two contingencies have to be met for VK vs. Rahman to finally happen.................
1. Rahman getting this Peter fight, which may happen....50/50 (King and Arum are very influential with this kind of undeserved fight thing)
2. Rahman beating Peter, which will probably happen........70/30
