How many Boxing Champions had initially retired undefeated? Whether or not if they had an ill advised comeback.

As near as I can determine, Bantamweight Champion Jimmy Carruthers may have been the first to retire with an unblemished record, bowing out at 19 (11)-0-0 in 1954.

Did Pryor retire before the Bobby Joe Young loss? Can't remember.Yes, after the second Arguello fight. Both fighters retired. Pryor soon came back.

I think it is.

A good boxer (or any sportsmen for that matter) will always tell you one thing, every day, every fight they watch or compete in, they are always still learning things. I dont think this forum is any different at all. We often rehash the things over and over yet often different perspectives ans posters teach us all (or me at least) new things on a regular basis. That is why i am here, (and usually i am here a lot longer than work or common sense really allows).
