I remember reading an interview with McCraken in Boxing Monthly a while back - he talked about watching Froch fight as an amateur and spotting his potential.

He also talked a lot about identifying good youngsters; what signs to look for in their balance and movement that would suggest they could be developed further.

The interview wasn't even focused on developing young boxers, it was about his career and his relationship with Froch, but it seemed like he had a real interest in talent-spotting and building fighters into the finished article.
