Former boxer, referee, trainer and announcer, Lou Filippo passed away on Novemeber 02, 2009 after an apparent stroke at the age of 83.
He's probably best remembered for his role in the Rocky series as the main referee, but did fight as a lightweight contender against Carlos Ortiz and Lauro Salas. He was stopped on cuts in both fights, losing by TKO.
