It's going to be like Nelson/Fenech II all over again.
It's going to be like Nelson/Fenech II all over again.
What... a great great fighter losing to another great fighter at the tale end of his career and 4 weight divisions from his natural weight:huh
Please explain to me how you came to this conclusion.

Or a so-called "good" Australian being exposed by a real fighter.

Sam Soliman's recent record speaks for itself, as does china chin codrington's.

So Fenech won world championships in 3 weight divisions, and beat Nelson in the eyes of the experts the first time round, but in reality was just waiting to be exposed.... Gotta love that logic. There must be a LOT of polution in the air in brooklyn. Thats only explanation I can think of as to how you could be so dumb. Keep it up though buddy.

That kid that Soliman beat looked liked he'd already lost the fight in his mind when Soliman stepped forward from the yellow team. Pepe gave him the way to win (uppercuts), McGirt warned Sam what to watch out for (uppercuts), Alexander threw a couple and landed and Sam waded in oblivious to the threat. Still, as the rest of the fighters noted, your not going to look good fighting him. Add to that his conditioning, plus the fact that he seems like a genuine good bloke, I hope he can keep going.
Looking forward to the Pommy boy square off, and havn't Soliman and Bika (?) fought before? Why no mention of that?
Enjoying this series so far, at least the fights havn't been so 'Rockyedited' this time around.

I am also undefeated. But I am also winless. Still, never been knocked out, my record has no blemishes.

watchin the fight then...
Sam didnt look that great he was chewin on the uppercut whenever max through it pretty much...
Max lost but he didnt seem to be hopeless..... maybe Pep harsh words at the end of the fight will sink in to him..... i can see him winnin a good amount of fights in the future
I Thought sam looked sloppy on the fight but the yank had a defeatist attitude that didnt really do him any good.
Sam got hit a fair bit and was lucky the yank wasnt built like a brick otherwise some of the shots he ate may have wobbled him.
I reckon if Sam fought winky now he probably wouldnt have troubled him as much as he did back then.
But credit does need to go to Sammy's conditioning - he was in F*#king awesome shape, ripped as F*#k and was very well aware of this - almost to the point of being intimidating because of it.

the guy he fought looked to be in terrible shape - really soft around the midsection; there is always a few guys on the contender who drop out early because they arent well conditioned

to me i think the contender cuts too many seens to make it look like a really close fight, one or two judges had it 50-44 i think that shows that he dominated every round, i think they have to make it look close for the viewers at home hense some special effects, angles from camera and stuff...

Agreed. From what I heard he actually won the fight pretty clearly.

I thought they were going to show the whole fight this time around. Still not a fan of the dramatic pause and swelling music before a big punch lands. All fights can be see in their entirity at the espn website.

Its cool that you can still get the whole fights. Might do that for the Soliman fight.

The show gives a false account of boxing, as so so fighters can go four or five rounds with far superior opponents much like a gym spar.As fights get on the better guy would dominate very easily.
