View Full Version : If Hatton happens to pull off the upset......

.....Then I'm sorry to say, but he will meet his Waterloo if he dares fight DLH.

I think Hatton is in for a severe beating with PBF, but anything can happen on a Saturday night in Las Vegas.

And if he does win, he will be offered a fight with DLH. This would be huge for Hatton, and a chance for DLH to claim the Welterweight Crown (and the junior welterweight crown, if you can swallow that).

It's a huge payday for Hatton, especially in England. They could probably put well over 75,000 people in a staduim with DLH going over there to fight him.

But here is the thing. DLH is FAR FAR FAR too big for Hatton. DLH is not shot, and still clearly has his power. PBF clearly beat him, but DLH stunned and/or hurt PBF at several moments in the fight. PBF actually had facial damage after the fight, which he had not had since the Castillo fight.

However, PBF is a defensive master. Hatton has no defense whatsoever. He has a come forward style that DLH will tear to shreds. DLH is too tall, and IMO, has grown into a natural at 154. He also has many dimensions to his game that will end Hatton's night early.

I see this going like Mayorga-DLH fight. If Collazo had him nearly out on his feet, DLH will put him right to sleep. One left hook may be all it takes.

DLH KO6 Hatton:deal

I think both beat Hatton, but I would pick De La Hoya to stop him...too big and powerful.

If I were Hatton and I beat Mayweather on the 8th, I would say good bye to the welterweight division for good and fight Malignaggi, Witter, Torres, and Rees at 140. Maybe even try to lure Juan Diaz, Joel Casamayor, or Michael Katsidis up if I cleaned out the division.

No way he turns down a DLH big money fight in England.

if hatton beats pbf, it could provide a blueprint for sluggers like pac and in-boxers on how to beat a defensive boxer like pbf...

you meant hatton upsetting floyd, not himself :good

While PBF did beat DLH, frankly I thought he looked pretty beatable himself. DLH won whenever he had him on the ropes, his jab, when he did use, was very effective, and even with the fact that DLH stopped jabbing after round 8, it was a close fight till the end, and PBF did win by only one round. I thougt DLH could have won it had he fought in the 11th like he did in the 12th, but whatever, whats done is done.

The biggest problem with Hatton fighting DLH is the size differential. DLH can still fight for about 2/3s of a fight, and Hatton doesnt have the power or boxing ability to keep DLH off of him.

I give Hatton a better chance of upsetting Hatton than beating DLH.

Interesting topic, good job Compukiller:good

Well considering that us Brits won at Waterloo I hope Hatton does meet his if heever steps into the ring against Oscar.

I would not pick Oscar against any top 10 welter/Light middle in the world right now considering his poor showing against the pretty boy.

The point you same goons forget ODH did not win on the inside..he lost on the inside.he did nothing. Floyd just showed his masterful defense. The rounds he won is b/c he scored with the jab and kept Floyd on the defensive. WITH THE JAB..not with his pathetic punches on the inside where floyd was countering him making him look like an idiot. That being said.Hatton cant walk through floyds punches b/c ODH could not. Hatton will come in with his face b/c he has no jab to come in behind and damned for sure no defensive. If he tries to come up with a high guard and come in his body will be open and floyd will jab the shit out of his body with that stiff ass lunging body jab of his that stops guys in there tracks. Like everybody he has fought. Hatton would have no answer and nothing to counter..the jab to the body will make hatton be weary then the over hand upstairs....this would be repeated.

I will post some rounds of floyd vs etc etc opponent to show you why Hatton is pretty much a sitting duck. You guys seem to forget of Floyds wide array of offensive arsenal. He is not limited to a left hook to the body.

Here is a guy that had a JAB, more power then Hatton and tried to just walk through Floyds punches to beat him down. Hatton does not have the reach or jab of this fighter. This guy hit harddd. Floyd showed now fear. Took some hard body shots and see the results.

The reason ODH did nothing when he got inside was as much to with his lack of skill at infighting and the fatigue he was experiencing (neither should be a problem for Hatton) as much as Mayweathers defensive skills.

toopretty why do you go so defensive when somebody says something about floyd? this isn't a thread bashing him, in this thread we are discusing what will hatton do IF he manages to pull off the upset.

If Hatton is good enough to catch PBF, and thrash him on the inside at will - then it would be safe to say, that past-prime Oscar has no hope - as evident in Hopkins-Oscar.

Ok look at what floyd did the guy in the clip who hits harder then hatton by far and did everything you guys say a guy should do. He jabbed his way in hit mayweather everywhere arms body got some head shots in and just watch the fight. One big question. How does Hatton get on the inside of Floyd like ODH did? I will wait. and ODH is a decent in-fighter. ODH is better skilled then hatton in every aspect of boxing.

I will dispute and breakdown all of what the same old same old says with actually fights and what floyd does in certain situations against more dangerous fighters then Hatton. Guys with more reach, power...etc....etc..no fear of Floyds punching power..like you say Hatton will walk through....lol. And to bring Castillo up is funny to me. Castillo one FLOYD WAS INJURED WITH A TORN ROTOR CUFF. AS SEEN BY THE FIRST ROUND OF THE FIGHT WHEN FLOYD SAID I HURT MY ARM.l

ODH a better in fighter than Hatton? Mayweather does not have the footwork or punch output he did a few years and a few pounds ago. ODH was able to get inside but then beause infighting isn't his natural style he was unable to make the most of it. Hatton has the legs to get inside and the style to make the most it when he does.

This is what will happen to Hatton, probably worse b/c this guy had a jab and threw it effectively the first few rounds. You drag Floyd into a dog fight his accuracy and punch variety and defense bails him out. This is fact not skeptical bullshit.

I saw the opponent had didn't bother to watch the fight (again), its not relevant style-wise at all.

Legs mean nothing....he has strong legs..but when he gets those left jabs to the body that floyd bends guys in half with those legs will weaken. And what will the legs do to stop hatton from getting tatooed and pot shotted nothing. This is floyd now..this is the same floyd..he has fought bigger guys and more skilled fighters since then. Nobody came at floyd reckless since this guy but a steel chinned Baldomir. The point I am making is the stupid shit that floyd cant fight on the inside and that if hatton gets there floyd is going to just ohhh get beaten up. NO..Hatton will still get beaten up regardless of where he is.

Ok whatever you say..it has everything to do style wise. This is what happens if you try to just beat the shit out of Floyd and come forward with aggressive and pressure and non stop assault..Hatton cant do half the shit this guy could do b/c the guy had very long arms and more power then Hatton. Hatton has to be dead next to floyd to be effective with anything. Truth will be told in December. I am not new to this topic and this will not be a competitive fight after round 5 or 6.

Floyd has nothing to fear from hatton at all. Like he said and everybody knows he has been in with bigger punchers, same aggression. The only thing hatton has is more speed then a guy like this but dont forget I say that floyds body attack is going to take a shit on hattons body attack. As Floyd has more then some short ranged left hook to the body. The left stiff jab that floyd jumps in with his body weight with is going to be the Hatton killer.then the overhand right hook

I mean. the way I looked at the fight is i forgot about the names. And watched the guy Ndou..he was far from a bad fighter, from watching the fight you see he had a good gameplan and he was able to get to floyd and make floyd have to fight. Mainly with his jab, and the guy had power a la Corrales type power. I just like to show that Floyd is no Spinks. On the inside or in a scrap he knows what to do. Or he would of gotten on his bike on this fight and got a very ugly win in a close fight. If Floyd had no inside game this guy would of probably outworked him.

My pet peeve is that floyd cant fight on the inside. Or what will floyd will do when Hatton cuts the ring off. Floyd will fight. I mean if he was just this pot shot runner or whatever I would not even like him. But he is not. With guys his size Floyd can be a little vicious and fights with a different attitude.

Man forget you, just b/c I back up what I say with proof. I will say it again. Ndou hits way harder then hatton and actually and reach and a jab to work behind. Hatton is a fish out of water come December.

I just don't think he's got the legs or the punch output to do that anymore. His style has changed over the last 3 or 4 fights. The Ndou fight was an impressive perfomance but Ndou isn't REAL world class IMHO.

I disagree. His style did not change at all. He can do the same thing right now depending on the opponent. He fought different fighters different ways. He will fight an aggressive fighter looking to walk through him and beat him up this way. Especially with average defense and bad combination punching like Hatton. Hatton is one and done maybe two. B/c he leaps with his shots and puts too much on the one punch. Floyds style has never changed as he fights depending on who he fights.

Thats one way to look at it but I think that if his legs were what they were 4 years ago then he could have made the de la Hoy fight a lot easier for himself.

The fact he didn't either means he chose not to or he didn't feel he could fight that way for 12 rounds anymore.

1st of all PBF won't lay a severe beating on any of the top fighters. he can win the fight, but he is NOT laying any beatings, for sure

2nd of all ODLH is DEFINATELY shot
