im not him or his brother, im a Kevin Mitchell fan. If the two were to meet i would fancy Kevin. Ive followed the two boxers since they become pros. Kevin has been unlucky with injuries, and I see the Prescott fight as an opportunity for Kevin to make a statement.

What an idiot. If prescott was the test then yeah he didn't pass but neither has Mitchell yet ?

And kotelnik is better than any of Kev's opponents

Ringmag have Khan #3 at light welter?

Well a decision win versus Kotelnik is pretty damn impressive in my book. But Khan will always be boxing a shadow in the ring in the form of Breidis Prescott...well at least for a few more years at least with chin questions. But with Ring being controlled by GBP and Khan now in DLH's backyard of L.A., not to mention Victor Ortiz and Ricky Hatton getting exiled as Joan of Arc witches, I could see Ring Mag throwing a bone to Amir at #3. Imo I think a #5 or #6 spot is a little more forthcoming tbh.

Did anybody on this site seriously expect 'wraps' or 'jigsawigsaw' to pick Khan against Mitchell. you two are the biggest fanboys on this site FFS. I know that you both are very good friends with Kev which is fair enough but you make yourself look fucking stupid on this site.

The only time you two come on this site is when there's some Kev Mitchell news which is fair enough but sprouting shiot like this off is ludicrous. If a lot of people think Burns would give Mitchell a stiff fight and in the 5th against Johanesson he was a punch away from being sparked..................Khan would stand him on his head !!!

Mitchell has been struggling to outpoint poor opponents let alone knock them out. Khan would have a field day with him. If one of you (jigsawigsaw maybe) is Kev then I apologise and i'm not being rude but that is just a fact

Could Khan be leaving Frank ****** soon considering he has set up Khan promotions recently?

Does Frank think that Amir will never beat Prescott?

Could Khan Mitchell be a way around that?

jigsaw, why is Kev moving up to 135? Does he just see the Prescott fight as a huge opportunity that he can't pass up or has he been having trouble making weight? Or maybe even both:think.

I must say......

I'm struggling to think of a British fighter who has had a more stop-start and generally badly managed career than Mitchell.

Additionally - he ought to forget about Khan and concentrate on his own career. It's not a fight that particularly appeals to me.

1. Khan is fighting at 140 now.
2. Mitchell has only beaten one worthy domestic operator - Johanneson. Admittedly he was the top dog.
3. Go out and earn a shot at a title - rather than talking through the press.

Obviously he has had his troubles with injuries and such, but that doesn't entitle him to a shot at Khan. In fact, it's the opposite.

Mitchell had been lined up to fight Ricky Burns in Newcastle, but said a fight against the Scotsman wasn't realistic because of his battle to make 9'4. "I was trying to get weight off in the gym," explained Mitchell.
"I was over 10 stone and there wasn't much left to come off and I knew that I couldn't do 9'4 any more.
"I walk around at over 11 stone, and that combined with the inactivity meant that there is no way that I can do super-featherweight again."

Would fighting Khan in the summer be a bit too soon for Mitchell? I would rather see him get accustomed to the extra weight first and I feel that a jump from super-feather all the way up to light-welter in a short space of time (although he has said himself he is at the lightweight limit now) would not bode well for his chances.

Best of luck to him though :good

THIS IS A SHIT FIGHT.

mitchell is a decent size super featherweight. khan is a big lightweight, now a lightwelterweight.

mitchell IS NOT world class, khan IS world class.

mitchell vs prescott is poo.

mitchell vs burns makes sense. mitchell should unify and leave no doubts domestically. if he beats burns then he can go to the world stage or go europe.

i genuinely hope they scrap prescott vs mitchell and reinstate mitchell vs burns. a good old domestic scrap. the hype or the road warrior to win?

I hope Mitchell leaves this fight it just doesn't make sense. I don't mind him moving up but he should concentrate on winning his own world title first and then defending it a few times before he looks for a domestic super fight two weights above his natural weight.

really surprised at the amount of use think Khan would beat Mitchell

My opinion is Mitchell would stop him inside 5 rounds, dont think Khan has the class to overcome him, should be good fight though.

Also throwing Alex Arthur into the mix makes it very interesting who i think would end up beating both of them .

Kevin is a 130 fighter, Khan is a big 140 fighter, do the maths this fight would be a mismatch in size. Khan would be too big, too fast for Kevin.

billy nelson
11-12-2009, 11:46 AM
kevin is no longer a 130 fighter, like most boxers hes outgrown the weight and moved up and took what looks like a very good fight one that i think kevin will win, symphathy to burns who as trained for the last 7 weeks and got nothing in return, hopefully he will get a shot at martinez coz theres not a super feather weight in yhe UK thats near him now.....

jigsawigsaw
11-12-2009, 04:43 PM
would of thought ****** would get martinez for burns on the 5th december. is ricky still fighting on that date? an easy fight to make would be nicky cook vs ricky burns. or it could be gary sykes vs burns as he won an eliminator against corolla. these domestic fights would be for the vacant british title, I would imagine, thats if the title is vacant

Mazallan
11-12-2009, 05:26 PM
I hope Burns gets a crack at the title on the bill still and Mitchell will lose to Khan in dramatic Graham Earl fashion.

i get the feeling that a khan vs mitchell or a khan v murray would trigger racial clashes between asian fans and white fans, i think most of us wether we know it or not want to see a typical school yard fight between a ''white boy vs asian boy'' its quite fitting as you have khan who's a young man of ****stani heritage and sometimes carries the rude boy persona and then u have 2 working class lads off the streets of essex and manchester couple that with the piss heads and chavs that come and support murray and mitchell and the ****stani gangsters and villans that come and support khan in his fights it carries all the ingredients for it to turn out into a race war.
