Brad Pitt & Mark Whallberg in Mickey Ward film

Brad Pitt has stepped in to play Mickey Wards brother in the upcoming film of his life. Matt Damon was due to play the role but has dropped out, presumably following his recent success with Bourne Ultimatum. Mark Whallberg is still scheduled to play Mickey.

Should be a good un, especially with Scorcese rumoured to be directing!!

I'd read that Pitt was in talks over the role of Wards brother & trainer but didn't know he'd actually accepted it - should be a good film for boxing fans and irish ones especially.

Jackson, Foxx, Waynas and one or two others were in a movie called Hype. It was quite recent and boxing based.

I would prefer Damon to do it. Pitt is a bit too in shape and good looking for the job. Wahlberg for Ward is a great little story. Wahlberg is gonig to have to lose some SERIOUS muscle. He is packing SERIOUS heat.
