From another boxing site:

Former cruiserweight champion Kelvin "Concrete" Davis was seriously injured this morning while getting ready to fight Shane Cameron on Thursday in Auckland, New Zealand. While doing his morning roadwork, Davis was was forced to jump off a very narrow bridge to avoid a truck that was coming in the same direction. The 25-foot jump caused a broken neck and broken back. At this time, Davis is hospitalized in serious but stable condition. Late replacement for Cameron is Jucimar Hipolito from Brazil.

Man, that is horrible. Kelvin has the worst luck in the world. Can anyone confirm this?

Bloody hell. He's lucky to be alive. Hopefully he'll be able to get back on his feet someday.

I hope he didn't injure his spinalchord as well. Breaking the back is a terrible injury. I wish him a speedy and full recovery.

damn, he could yell at the truck to stop, get back to the beginning of the bridge, let the truck go and then resume his jogging!!
If he couldn't d so it seems like the driver is a dickhead!!

Considering he hurled himself off a bridge to get out of the way I'd imagine it was life or death right there and he had to react instinctively.

I really hope he recovers fully and can get on with life.

The guy really has some terrible luck. I feel bad for him and I hope he recovers. It's not even about his boxing career at this point. It's whether he can ever recover and walk again.

Kelvin is a good fighter, i hope he can get back to full fitness..

Its the worse thing to happen to a physical specimen like him , he will take a set back like this hard..

God bless him and my prayers will definitely include his recovery....

Awww that sucks. Always enjoy watching that guy fight. Even in a loss, he still goes all out.
