At some point Manny Steward puts Castillo's career in perspective relative to MAB, Morales and Marquez.

I didn't get to hear what he said.

Does anyone remember?

It's during Castillo's ringwalk in response to a question from Lampley. Have it on my computer at home so could check later.

he said that he didn't consider Castillo a great fighter. He said that he has come up short in all of the biggest fights he has been in and he needed a victory over Hatton to cement his place as a great fighter.

What Manny was saying is that Castillio needed a big win over Hatton to be considered in the same class as some of the more recent Mexican greats.Looks like he isn't going to make the cut.

Well I totally agree. Castillo was an elite fighter but never a great in the mold of Marco Antonio Barrera and JMM. As for Morales I didn't really follow his career as closely.

Erik Morales is greater than JMM.

Didn't he also say about a round before it finished that Castillo was by far the better body puncher than Hatton.

Not cause Castillo is a better body puncher does that automatically mean Hatton can't KO Castillo with a body punch.

Anyways at this point in their careers and at this weight, Hatton is a better everything than Castillo. But at his peak Castillo is among the best body punchers of his generation.

Yeah fair enough...the comedic value was not lost on Stewart tho he knew he made a commentating burb as soon as Castillo went down....Hatton made his name in UK with that body shot,if you look back at his career he has done that exact same thing to at least a dozen opponents always against the orthodox opponents
