He looked awful every fight he had and never faced a decent opponent. I would have loved to have seen him face one of the top Brits before he finished.

There were rumors he was going to be in one of the prizefighters but nothing really came from it.

One of the most boring fighters you will ever see step into the ring.

He just didn't develop. It happens.

He lost to Cedric Boswell by a 2nd Round KO last year and hasn't been seen since.

It's incredible to think that 6 years ago Boxing Monthly had a feature on him proclaiming that he would be the first "Billionaire boxer"...

They said the same thing years back with Matthew Ellis; he was going to be bigger than Tiger Woods!

In fact a couple years after first starting up, Boxing Monthly had to call a halt to their prospects of the month segment, because it was seemingly cursed.

He was only ever going to be somebody built up to have a 50-0 record so he could get a shot (and get destroyed in said shot) at the World Title. Didn't even make it that far.

I think he's made a few bob though, he generated alot of interest.

Not too surprised if he's quit, he showed such little fire and passion throughout his career I could see him packing it in off a single loss.

That's a bloody harsh thing to say about a pro fighter I know. But I don't think I'm wrong.

Greenberg vs Julius Francis is still one of the worst fights I've ever seen in my life.

This will make you feel better...

The BBC showed delayed coverage of that fight. As I had already made plans for the day it was scheduled to be shown I set the video to watch it when I came back home. I'd forgot to rewind the tape and never got to see the fight.

So, I e-mailed one of the traders from the back of Boxing Monthly and bought a copy for around £10 (including P+P)... surley I've said enough... :-(

But fuck me that was bad. I never got a chance to talk to Julius after that bout but Greenberg looked like an absolute goon. The guy really thought he was cute. Im sure he could have made 200lbs aswell.

I met Greenberg a couple of years ago through a mutual friend. He was friendly enough and was splashing the cash about buying others champagne. When I asked what he was celebrating he told me andanyone who would listen that he was now the Official International Boxing Organisation Inter Continental Heavyweight Champion. And he was so proud of this. I kid you not...:gun

I was told by a source close to Greenberg that he is living in Israel, possibly on a Kibbutz. My understanding is that Greenberg's former backers are willing to resume managing/promoting him if he wants to return to the ring. Supposedly Greenberg just hasn't shown any interest in boxing anymore.

I saw Greenberg fight live once...I was seated very close to the ring. Greenberg had impressive upper body strength and fast hands, but his defense was faulty. He was hit a lot by right hands, even in spite of using his crab-like, crouching defensive manuevers. Greenberg's overall body movement seemed slow and mechanical, almost like that of a wrestler. He was flat-footed. His offensive combination punching was impressive -- again I emphasize that he had nice handspeed -- but Greenberg needed to be moving forward in order to get his punches off. It didn't look like Greenberg could fight off of his backfoot.

I wasn't surprised when Greenberg was knocked out by Boswell. Boswell is a "B" level fighter, but he is a heavy bomber, and Greenberg is very hittable.
