I can only imagine the variety of reasons that he kept him out of the ring since the Jones fight.

Always thought that if he could have got in shape and trimmed down to light welter or even lightweight that he could have done something at British level.

It's good to see him back. He's definately got a bit of talent, although question marks remain over his temperament.

I've noticed that you always have a good word for him.

If I remember correctly you said he should/could have been word class level - any truth?

When is he back out? Who against? Who is he with? How do you guys in the know think he will do?

Great luck to the guy, not seen too much of him but he always looked handy.

Hope he gets himself in shape, has looked a bit undercooked at times in the past but decent fighter and entertaining.

He's been up to near 16 stone recently by all accounts.

I'll be amazed if he can get back to any sort of level if that's true.

He's a good well rounded fighter and seem's like a nice enough guy I hope he does well, I think he thought he was getting an easy night when he took on Mcintyer and as a result got beaten a rematch for the Celtic title would be a good move for both of them.

Intereesting to hear what Doherty had to say in respect of Kell Brook. Unless Tony makes some big noise, I can't see that one coming off. Brook-Jennings will be scheduled again, of which I expect Brook to come through. I would then expect Kell to go onto the next level.

However, I'd be all for a Doherty-Brook showdown, but Toney needs to get some bouts under his belt firstly. No matter how much training & sparring he's done preparation, there will be some ring-rust to shed!

He was stopped tonight in the 3rd round by journeyman Geraint Harvey, a devastating blow to his career. Will he return or will he retire, i've got a feeling it will be the latter.

jesus thats shocking bad! was it stamina or did he get caught?

either way thats is worrying especially against someone as "bad" as Harvey

Although weighing 11st he didn't look too bad for the first 2 rounds considering he'd been out for 20 months.

Then got caught in the 3rd and went down, legs looked unsteady when he got back up. Got put down again but Harvey appeared to hit him 2-3 times when he was down. To be fair he got back up but Harvey was landing cleanly and i thought referee Wynford Jones should have waved it off a few punches before he actually did. Saying that the ref could have disqualified Harvey for hitting Tony while down, or at least given Doherty more time to recover.

Apparenty Doherty had balooned to nearly 16st since his last fight, so has had to lose 5st, that can't have done him too much good!

To be fair to Harvey he was landing a lot of clean shots. It wasnt a case of him landing a ''lucky'' shot to finish it. I'm suprised his record is as bad as it is, as he's clearly a good boxer. That's two TKO's in three fights for him now, so there a bit of power in his punches.

He did hit Tony twice when he was down, but it happens and you would never see a ref giving a DQ for what happened last night. He was warned which was the right decision, but Tony's night was already over after the knock down.

Tony must be gutted, but after reading a few interviews he did pre-fiight, he knew this was going to be a tougher fight than Harvey's record suggested. I wonder where he goes from here though, he must be devastated.

I once saw Harvey cut up Kell Brook (on the way to a loss). He is gutsy and experienced, better than his record testifies.
"The Doc" can come again.

Damn... You mean one of the most talented fighters i've ever seen was beaten by a decent journeyman. Wonder who could be to blame.

Don't see Enzo to blame for this one, but if Gavin Rees doesn't win Prizefighter I think it could be the end.
