Vitali's was 100x better than this joke of a title reign. Even Jess Willard's was better..

You right,
- win over Rahman who did not won WBC title by beating the champion
- defense over Okhello
- injury before Peter
Its like a big 2 years hole in WBC title history.

This is just one example of how the HW division is totally jacked up. This stuff happens everywhere in boxing to an extent, but it's by far the worst with the big guys.
The worst thing is I feel like we currently have a very good HW (Wladimir) who is being wasted during his peak years. A true shame.

Heh...reminds me of...
- win over Sanders for a vacant belt rather than beating the champion
- defense over Williams
- injury before Rahman
I'm gonna get flamed for that but I had to do it :yep
Besides, if you really want to talk lousy HW defences, look at Herbie Hide's epic sojourn with the WBO strap from '97-'99.

It is a significant difference between:
Barrett - Wlad
Rahman - Sanders
Okhello - Williams

Nobody compares with the illegitimate title reign of glorified clubfighter John Ruiz.:-(:fire
At least those other guys won belts by fighting WITHIN the rules!! :yep

I don't know if you could even call that a " Title reign "
Stating "holding a title belt illegitimately on the basis of corruption" in a short phrase isn't easy!!

Agreed. So much for Eastern Europe saving the heavyweight division. They've only made it worse.

This is quite a damned shame!
However, fear not! Once Golota disposes of the overhyped Nigerian better known as Peter, a potential bout between Wlad and Golota will return some much needed excitment to the heavyweight division!

I couldn't disagree more! If it weren't for the Euros - who would be the top HW's right now? Peter, Briggs, Holyfield, Byrd, Ruiz? What the fuck!!!???
I am very thankful for the EUros - they are putting out the BEST HW's right now. Without them we'd be fucked!
Well lets see.
If Vitali Klitschko wasn't in the way there would have been 2-3 title defenses in 2005.
If Maskaev wasn't in the way, there would have been 2-3 title defenses in 2007.
The rest of them are new and deserve some time. Waldo is really the only one but he too has just recently become champion so we'll see. But both Maskaev and Vitali have left the WBC heavyweight landscape looking downright awful.
If Maskaev and Vitali's title reigns are omens to what lies ahead for Ibragimov and Chagaev, the heavyweights are in for a world of hurt.

Clearly Maskaev pulled out to then fight Vitali instead of peter after peter fights on october 6th!!!!!!!!! Genius move by Klitschko and Rappaport.
