I cant believe some people actually think Golata will win. He maybe had a chance when he was younger, but not now.. He's been ko'd by many. He's simply a canvas whore now.

He has a chance. Peter never faced a top 10 heavyweight, and Golota has. Golota knows what he needs to do to win. Golota will pressure him, and Peter will fall into his jabs, and Golota will control this fight to a UD win. Peter is overrated. Sure, the kid has power, and maybe a chin, but thats it. Golota's jab is key and it will lead him to victory.

Sure, why not? Golota can take on anyone in the division.

Samuel Peter KO2 Andrew Golota

I am amazed at how many people in the poll think Golota wins. Look for Peter to ice Golota early. It could be a KO1, like the Lewis or Brewster fights.

Or the winner becomes champ if Maskaev vacates the title or is stripped.

So this is in effect the THIRD eliminator that Sam Peter has fought. Poor guy.

I've never been to the Garden for a boxing event, so I'm interested to see how the atmosphere is. I imagine it will be electric since Golota will probably have quite a few strong supporters.

The really ludicrous thing is that people are picking him to KO the iron-chinned Peter in round! :patsch They HAVE to be joking!:nut

Golota is horrible, his claim to fame is two foul out losses to Bowe over 10 years ago, since then hasnt won any significant and has been destroyed by heavy hitters like Tyson, Lewis, Brewster, and even Grant. Anyone who feels Golota will win this fight should take a look at his career achievements over the last 10 years and you will hopefully draw the same conclusion as me, he should of retired years ago.

I see an amazing double knockout.

Golota will bend down and deliver a lethal blow to Peter's nuts. Peter will take the opportunity to crush the back of Golota's skull.

(Seriously Peter win KO by round 3)

I wouldn't way he's horrible. He pummeled T-Rex Sanders into retirement, and beat both Byrd and Ruiz in title fights, and got robbed.

Some other notable wins:
Samson Po'uha
Danell Nicholson
Tim Witherspoon
Jesse Ferguson
Orlin Norris

So he got caught against Lennox and Lamon. Shit happens.

All these predictions remind me of how everyone was picking Brewster to beat Wlad... ain't gonna happen.

Bottom line, people who dislike Golota only see negative things, hence adding to their own misconceptions.

What happend in his fight with Tyson and Grant, he got pummled against Tyson and ended up quiting because he got hit hard and didnt want finish out the fight. T-Rex was the same guy Tyson made quick work of when he was in head gear in Oct of 06

You're overlooking a few things...

Golota beat the living diarrhea out of Grant. When the ref asked him if he wanted to continue he mumbled "no" or something like that. George Foreman later said "you don't ask a man after he's been knocked down if he wants to continue, or you might get an answer of something like hi mom". Golota was too stubborn to take a knee when he got caught with an unexpected punch. All he had to do is kneel and walk for 3 more minutes. Grant was his bitch. That fight was a jerk-off. And more importantly, the fight should have been stopped in the 1st round when Grant was in the stars.

Tyson hit Golota with one of the best shots I've seen him throw. Golota's glove touched the canvas and he bounced right up. Tyson could not finish him off in that round. In the 2nd round Golota was holdind his own. What happened later only Golota knows. Tyson didn't beat Golota, Golota beat Golota.

Sanders gained close to 100 lbs. when he did that show with Tyson, and he's permanently blind in one eye from Golota's punches. No man should have to endure that type of permanent damage. That fight should also have been stopped.

Bowe, another one of Golota's victims... brain dead.

Dont get me wrong. I would prefer Golota to win. I like him more then I like Peter. So my prediction isn't about playing favourites.

Golota at his very best would have a solid chance at winning. Right now? He will get beaten badly.
