The only one I would dispute is Vasquez being in the top 10.

I know he stepped up to feather in his last fight, and won, but it was aganist a career bantamweight who had lost most of his recent fights (several in a row I think) by stoppage...... and he looked shit in doing so.

Other than that, top marks.

reason i put him back in is because msot people voted him top 5 in there P4P but we took him out due to inactivity. i agree with you Beeston so if a few more come on board i will change

Yep I believe Vasquez and Marquez haven't done enough in the past 12 months to justify it. B-Hop would just about scrape in due to pavlik not being as long ago as Rafa-Izzy 3.

How long does a fighter have to be inactive to be pulled from the rankings?

I am just talking about Hatton on this. Even if he does come back it will be mid-late next year.

Great to see the list looking good.

365 days unless they have an official fight scheduled aka Hopkins

Also, I feel Hasegawa should be above JuanMa and Donaire. I'm too late to make a difference but oh, well :good

Thanks.

It would be an idea to save the list how it is before fights happen and it changes and then re post it next christmas and we can check where people are then in comparison.

How is Chad Dawson LHW Champ but B-hop higher P4P?

NB - Didn't get involved first time around so apologies if this has been covered previously.

Dawson has a belt at Light-Heavy, as does Pascal do you want him to be ranked above Hop too??!?!?

Who mentioned belts

You've got Chad as 'ESB Champ' implying he is the best LH but then you've got B-Hop miles ahead P4P.

Divisional rankings do not affect P4P. Number 1,2,4,6,7 and 8 are not number 1 in there Division but are not P4P champion.

Dawson has faced better Light Heavyweights in the past 2 years, but Hopkins has faced better fighters (Pavlik, Calzaghe Loss SD)

i have questions.

who compiles these ratings ?..like is it anyone and everyone on esb voting and one guy compiles it ?
what makes someone champion of their division ?..like, why is esb welter champ vacant?

before the summer Kosaros started putting them together with help from myself and Losfer Words. then everyone on the Brit forum got involved and added there input. the P4P was done with a vote, and movement happen when a couple of posters agree.

Someone who is clearly the number 1 in a division is champion. We follow the same rule as the Ring where if the number 1 ranked fighter faces the number 2 or even 3, they become Champion. ESB welter is vacant because Cotto beat Mosley, Margorito beat Cotto, Mosley beat Margorito. Mayweather didnt beat a Welterweight, and Pacquiao beat Cotto who was at number 2.

we have british rankings as well in a sticky, they have not been updated in a while. Think Kos will get round to it soon.

every brit forum regular should try and input. I think its a good way of the true fans on here knowing whether a a challanger is a legitimate one or not.

fair enough..and best of luck with it.

personally, and i'm not knocking it, i'd like to see, say, a ten man esb panel who would debate among themselves the results of the posters choices...with one man, say yourself, heading up the panel...and compile the ratings based on that...but that could be hard to organise.

I tend to agree Doug its an idea i put forward previously. It pretty much happens anyway as only regular posters will post on the rankings every week, and only respected posters will be listend to.

If anyone is interested in doing what Doug said, PM me and i will look into a way of setting it up. We should do the same for the British rankings as well.

Very good Rob, only real problems I see are that there are 12 boxers in the heavyweight division and Adamek's name is spelt wrong

Also, Z Gorres sadly won't be fighting again so he will have to be replaced in the rankings.

Israel Vazquez the 6th best boxer in the world when he's had only one fight since March last year and that was against a journeyman type?

Similar thing with Rafa Marquez who's #9 P4P/

Great list, and great work Rob!

Havent got time to go through it with a toothcomb, but it looks pretty good to me.

Small comments... I too have issues with Izzy being ranked so high in P4P list. Inactivity and then a nothing fight last month? Same applies to R Marquez for me too.

I'd also have no issue with calling Kessler the SMW champ, but I understand if you're waiting for the super six to finish before naming that one.

I am going to do a new P4P.

Please PM me your lists. I will start a thread to.

Kessler has not beat anyone since his Calzaghe loss to deserve that crown. whoever wins the Super 6 will be champion. Infact if Kessler beats Ward, the winner of Froch vs Kessler will be.

I'd go with

1)Manny Pacquio
2)Andre Ward
3)Lucian Bute

Although Haye won I dont feel it was as impressive as Bute's was although Zsolt Eredi deserves a mention.

Does linearity not come into the equation? In days gone by when there was just a single champion in each division, the champ could conceivabbly not be the best in the division.
