TBA must be getting on now surely, he's been about with sports network forever. Very active but with his age Enzo could get the KO.

I've still not seen the Lebedev fight.

Anybody able to fill me in on what happened?

He was humiliated and should of retired by noiw. Love it when you see ****** slagging Enzo/Audley off in public when they lose, but he keeps promoting them. Enzo is shot, period. He was never that great anyway.

Why was he humiliated? Was he just not getting shots off?

The first two rounds were fairly competitive but in the third Lebedev just stepped in and, basically, clubbed Enzo, who just stood there, until the ref stepped in.

I should imagine this opponent is going to be really shit. Either way, I don't think we'll see the old Enzo again.

Do you think he's done then?

Above domestic that is.

Well, it certainly doesn't look good does it? Three stoppage losses in his last four fights.

I can not see Enzo doing much at domestic right now. I hope he retires soon.

The public want it, the moneys there, the promoters should sort it out!

Why was he humiliated? Was he just not getting shots off?

The first heavy shot he took seemed to put him into a catatonic state, then he stopped returning fire, his nose and eye got smashed and the ref stepped in.

Like 3 weeks to go and Gavin, Enzo, Burns etc don't have a top fight. Don't waste their time putting them on a bill when they haven't even got a fucking fight til the last minute. It means their opponents will usually be shit.

Enzo needs some confidence, couldn't have gone to total shit overnight, put him in with some of those prizefighter bums, that'll put him on the path to recovery.

If he has some sort of ground game like BJJ, which he says he does, then I think a move to MMA would be interesting. Get into the grappling and try and hide that chin. When he is standing, his punches can be devastating.

Who trains him now? I really like Enzo, one of boxings good guys but since Haye beat him he has looked so gun shy and that has totally taken away his game. Would like to see him have one last crack if he has really got his confidence back. he surely can't be shot at 29 after that many fights. It's not like he's been in 30 odd wars

it's a real heart versus head job. He deserves one last fight to see what he's got left BUT what he's got left might be a danger to himself.

If he is fighting a TBA fight, it will be against a nobody which he will win.
The problem with Ezno at the minute is that he has no confidence.
If he can build his confidence again and bring himself through the domestic scene their is always the chance of another world title fight.

I was in the pub yesterday before football, with an irregular poster on here called 'Sibbo' talking about Enzo Mac, and he said that he felt really sorry for him cos trainer Enzo Calzaghe had always favoured his "other son" Joe and Enzo didn't get a look in.

Sibbo just a reminder as explained mate, I know you're a big boxing fan.

Enzo Calzaghe is not Enzo Maccaranelli's dad. The clue is in the surname as opposed to first name, that's usually how you can tell people are related or are you so in-bred in Somerset that you no longer follow these conventions?

Enzo was on the "undercard" of the Mike Tyson tour I went to. He said that the reason he lost is because he was too focused on weight training and he forgot what got him his success - raw power and aggression. So he's cut the weights and focused more on what brought him victories in his early career.

I just think he's done.

Derek Lewis

article from swansea local rag

ENZO Maccarinelli will make his return to the ring next month — and will have a new coach in his corner.
Swansea cruiserweight Maccarinelli will feature on the same card as Amir Khan's WBA light welterweight title fight with Dmitriy Salita in Newcastle on December 5.
The 29-year-old is yet to be given an opponent at the Metro Radio Arena, but he insists he will be in perfect condition thanks to his new trainer.
Maccarinelli has turned to Morriston-based Derek Lewis, a former two-time ABA champion, in order to steer his career back on the right track.

The former WBO cruiserweight king had worked under Karl Ince since leaving Enzo Calzaghe's stable, but spending five days a week in Bolton proved a stumbling block for the family man.
But Maccarinelli reckons he has the right man in charge as he sets out to become a major force in the division once again.
"Derek is just what I needed — he used to coach me as a kid and he will get me in perfect condition," said Maccarinelli. "He's a complete maniac who knows what buttons to press and when to do it.
"Why is he a maniac? Well, in our first training session back I was pretty tired at the end of the session, and I felt a really sharp pain in my left calf.
"I turned around and realised that Derek had whipped me on my calf with a skipping rope and he was shouting at me for being tired.
Shape
"There's no letting up with him and I'm sure I will be in great shape on December 5.
"It's a night I'm really looking forward to because someone is going to get knocked out."
After consecutive defeats to Ola Afolabi and Denis Lebedev, Maccarinelli desperately needs to prove his doubters wrong.
For a man who was WBO champion only last year, his career has spiralled since losing his belt to current WBA heavyweight champion David Haye.
And while he is awaiting confirmation on his opponent, there is only one thing on Maccarinelli's mind.
"I've got some massive bombs to drop that night," he said.
"It's a big night for me and there's people I need to prove wrong.
"There are those that think my career is over, but I believe I can be champion again.
"Derek and (conditioning coach) Chris Ware are working very hard with me and you won't see the Enzo Maccarinelli that was in the ring for the last two fights," he added.
"I've nothing but respect for Karl. My switch wasn't personal as he is an excellent coach.
"But Derek doesn't want to change me — he knows I have a great jab and the power to knock anyone out.
"He is working on other things and letting me do the business in the ring."
