One of worldīs finest amateur boxerīs Boris Georgiev of Bulgaria turned pro in June in England. He won his debut by a TKO in the first round. He has a very amateurish boxing style and not the best chin, but I am sure that he will easilly outclass most pro boxers.
Does anyone know whatkind of a pro contract has he made? His first fight was promoted by Hatton promotions. And has Georgiev moved to England or is he training in Bulgaria?

Nice thread, now here how the things stand,
Boris Georgiev (aka in UK as Bobby Georgie) really debuted in a show organized by Hatton promotions. He won via TKO in second or third round against African boxer with record like 3 wins - two losses. Georgiev do not have work permit in UK or some sort of document, which do not allow him to sign a contract. This was the reason that his win wasn;t noted on boxrec.
Now he is searching for some promoter to sign with and to manage to clear his working documents. During this time he is training at TKO GYM in London
Georgiev is born December 82 and is with the same generation as Kubrat Pulev (born 1981) and other Bulgarian amateur stars as Detelin Dalakliev (83), Spas Genov (81. who made two professional fights in Bulgaria 2 wins), Alexander Vladimirov (80, IBC Sbantam champ with 9-3-1 pro record).
Georgiev is unlikely to back to Bulgaria, cos he has some troubles with dangerous guys out of boxing. There is huge interest towards him by USA based manager, who has in his stable some very good fighters, including former Heavyweight champs :) And it's very possible that he moves in the next months to Las Vegas. THe problem may occure by his Visa.

Thanks of the info! Hopefully he getīs things right and getīs a good promotor! I am not sure that Georgiev has the chin what it takes to be a top level professional boxer, but he sure has got great skills!

Yeah i remember this guy from the 08 Olympics. There is another guy with a name like him, george in it, a Romanian guy i think. I just remember them as the 2 George's lol, both having impressed me.
How come you say he has a bad chin? He been KO'd a few times as an amateur?

Yeah, he was. And if you get KOīd with ameteur gloves and can in your head... What will happend when you will get hit with 8oz pro gloves? But donīt get me wrong... Georgiev is a VERY good fighter. He has superb skills.

He never been deeply Ko-ed. The only time he lost via KO was during European championships 2002 in Perm, Russia, against Alexander Maletin in his best. It was on the final of the competition and during this time Georgiev was just 19. And there is also another story for this championships, when Russians won i think 9 golds from 12 weight divisions :) And Bulgaria was with 3 fighters in the final, taking one gold in the next fight by Dimitar Shtilianov...
Also during European championships 2006 he got twice counts for knockdown i think it was on quarterfinal.
But i really can't remember when he was KO-ed cold. In fact he fought with the very best in the world including all the Russians, Cubans (Kindelan, Cedeno...) at 60 and 64
Georgiev will look in professionals just as Amir Khan. The same qualities, speed, technics and punch.

Oppsss, agree for the fight with Super Mario on 2003, which was very close in the first three rounds.. It was refery stoppage after tough knockdown, when Boris went Va Bank to equal the score. Thanks for correction :)

Well, anyway... I hope that Georgiev getīs his pro-career going well. I wish him the best!
Let's hope he sorts his things out and starts fighting regularly.
I think that Boris Georgiev is more of a counter-puncher. I am not sure how it will transfer in the pro rings.
His new name (Bobby George) remainds me of the singer Boy George. He should probably use on of his songs when he walks-in.
