Choi is the the most avoided fighter around today.

He started boxing[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]***********.com/forums/showthread.php?t=320747#) at 22 years of age. When amature, he nearly made the Olyimpic Team, and early on in his amature career was just fighting the best around, when he didnt even have much exprience.

In only his 3rd Pro fight he fought 18-1 and one of the best asian fighters of all time Veeraphol Sahaprom, in a 10 round fight, yes 10 round fight and this was only Choi's 3rd pro fight, he lost a 10 round decision.

In 2004 he took future world champion Lehlohonolo Ledwaba to a MD.

Choi has took 7 unbeaten fighters 0'S, giving them all there first loss in the pro ranks.

-He defeated Kevin O'Hara (9-0) Who Represented Northern Ireland In 2002 Commonwealth Games

-He defeated Livinson Ruiz (12-0)

-Nikoloz Berkatsashvili (13-0)

-Abdu Tebazalwa (10-0) Tebazalwa represented Uganda at the 2000 Summer Olympics[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]***********.com/forums/showthread.php?t=320747#) in Sydney, Australia, boxing as a Bantamweight.

-Derry Mathews (20-0) Mathews was WBU Champion, and was number 1 in Britian and had already won the young boxer of the year award in the UK. Choi destroyed him. Deryy had also won the Jr Olympic's.

Choi has also defeated the very capable Harry Ramogoadi twice.

Choi hasnt been beat in 5 years and is on a 11 fight win streak. But no one wants to fight him, and no big promoters are interested in him.

So he is thinking about retireing due to this, and is thinking about going to MMA[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]***********.com/forums/showthread.php?t=320747#), to put food on his Family's table.

But this isn't right. Choi deserves a chance at a world title, and should be getting be money fights.

Such a shame a great fighter like him, is not getting the chances he deserves.

But I see the likes of Matthew Hatton, and Julio Cesar Jr getting world title shots, and easy fights due to there second name!

It makes me sick. It really does!

Choi is the most avoided boxer in the world right now!

And he is not getting any younger he is 38!

I wish something could be done about Choi's situation! The polotics in boxing are a disgrace!

Why can't Maloney or someone take him on, and get him big fights?

This should be in the Choi .... doesn't matter

Has he not got an ankle injury? He has really missed the boat on cashing in on the Matthews fight. His best way of getting opponents is to take the british route get up the rankings and make the fights happen instead of fighting fighters with no status in any governing body.

There must be more to the situation than meets the eye. He was with the UKs top promoter Frank ******, had just looked good beating Matthews, had a marketable angle (the Mongolian thing) yet he couldn't get ANY fights? Doesn't add up.

Was he with ****** Gaz? Where does Doughty come into it? Did he become Choi's promoter after ****** and before Spencer? Its a fucked up thing all right

****** said as much himself that nobody wants to fight him. It is pretty annoying, some people get the red carpet rolled out for them in this game and some get nothing.

I remember that interview as well. There's your answer, people.:good Choi was always a high-risk/ very low-reward proposition to fighters and promoters. It's a shame, but we shouldn't be suprised by the 'politricks' that are pervasive in the game.

Did he not have permit problems for awhile and semi retire for awhile too.

Choi vs Lindsey would be a ******* but he stops Hyland in 2.

Personally I hope he gewts a fair crack of the whip at some point but I do not think his chance will ever come.

Self FAIL. I have just looked him up on boxrec and I am talking about the wrong Hyland. Which is the kid that fought in Barnsley? He was shit.

Still looking at the level of opponent Paddy is facing it is hard to judge how well he will do against an half decent opponent and someone in the class of Choi will no doubt beat him right now.

Hate to say it, but if Choi wants to progress his career he should think about moving to Japan, there are a ton of Featherwights there

ive seen paddy fight and while he is not the best technically he has got a good chin and can fight

i think him and choi would be a right tear up , paddy hyland is the best of the hylands by a good bit and they could fight for his ibf international belt , ive heard this fight been mentioned by one of the hylands mates on the irish thread , he said it could happen some time next year

Paulie Hyland was the kid who fought in Barnsley - who ought to have lost to that journeyman from Russia or wherever, but got a gift.

On Choi, I think ****** said he was finding it impossible to match him, which must be saying something, and basically offered him to anyone capable of getting him some work.
