Just wondered who everyone thought might win boxer of the year next week. For me there's three real contenders and I can see the arguments for and against each.

Carl Froch - Three world title wins in the last year (Pascal was after the last awards although in 2008, so I would hope it would count), especially the amazing stoppage over Taylor. However his performance against Dirrell wasn't so good and many believe he lost the fight.

Amir Khan - Another world title winner and a victory over a true legend in Barerra. However Barerra was well past and probably should have been a no-contest and Whilst he fought well against Kotelnik, he was the easiest champ out there for Khan.

David Haye - He became world heavyweight champion which in itself would win you something like this hands down, but only one fight in the year and a rather dull afair does go against him.

If the Pascal fight is considered, then its Froch clearly - even if it isn't I would still have him winning it, with Khan just behind.

It would be the Board themselves. The journalists have their own award, the boxing writers awards.
I would definately say Froch deserves it. I suppose if Haye beats Ruiz then one of the Klitschkos he should be a definite for next year.
The reason I put this up is that I'm going next week and to be honest I can't wait

As much as I hate to admit it, Froch.

Why Dan? Do you hate Haye or something? I remember you tipping him to win.
