Rickson is a beast. If there is a guard you don't want to be in its his.

Cheers, Royler is well known & respected worldwide for his BJJ skills, it just shows the level in which Rickson is at... the best BJJ practitioner ever ?
Very possibly.
Ps. I would have slapped that prick with the camcorder, a great BJJ match between 2 of the best & that asshole spends about 50 seconds showing us the rest of the class, what a prick :fire

Very nice, but GSP would destroy a prime Rickson in his guard.

If we are talking MMA, it is certainly possible.
GSP is certainly better off in Rickson's guard than Rickson would be with GSP in his guard.
This is inevitable, but Rickson's legend and Rickson's reality are now two totally seperate ideas. It's possible that he was the best ever, its certain that he is still not as good as some would lead you to believe.

:lol:You're out of your mind if you dont think GSP wont make Rickson his personal dummy partner in an MMA match.
First, Rickson loves top position..(and he works hard for takedowns)well guess what? he will not in a million years take down George. Plus as sloppy as he is striking as evidenced by his PRIDE fights (yes they are on film).. GSP has an 80% chance of knocking him the fuck out before he can even attemp a takedown, if hes stupid enough.
third, just for fun GSP will shoot at him like a freaking train and will take him down so hard he may go out. And then when hes on top, elbows that cannot be stopped even in Ricksons dream will start to rain down. But GSP, class guy that he is will show mercy.
GSP is the man who shakes a deep omoplata from BJ 3 years ago like it was practice, this is GSP version 3.0 were looking at now.
Gracie family wouldnt like this matchup, they may have to offer Rickson 10 mil for him to consider it.

I just posted the footage of Rickson and Royler, because I enjoyed it.
Now people want to bring up GSP, and current mma. That was not my intention with this footage. I believe Rickson to be the best grappler ever, though that may mean more in real fighting than today's mma scene. In a real fight; there are no time limits, no rounds, and no stand-ups.
To say that Rickson would be outpointed by GSP is one thing. To say that Rickson would be in danger is another. Rickson would have no fear of GSP in his guard. Under today's rules, the fight may get restart after restart, as Rickson would not simply let GSP ground and pound him. Rickson would most likely hold and stall, then force a restart. In a bout with no stand up's or time limits, GSP would be held into a boring position until he gave Rickson room to submit him.
The following quotes are from Paulo Fihlo after training with a 47 year old Rickson Gracie

"I always knew that he was exceptional, but the truth is, I had no idea how...I've trained with all of Carlson's greatest pupils, from all generations, all of them excellent, some even phenomenal. I don't want to depreciate anyone, but what Rickson did to me no one else was ever able to do...The knowledge he has is something absurd, which no one in the world comes close to. Look at it: He proved to me that I distribute my weight incorrectly...It's hard to explain, but he places himself in a way that makes him even heavier. And he moves his hips in an incomparable way. Like a snake...The opportunity I'm having right now is unique, and I can't waste it. I'll incorporate all I can into my game and become an even more dignified Jiu-Jitsu representative. We watched the bout against Ninja together, and he showed me all I did wrong. If I had known these errors before, the fight would have ended differently...He'd simulate the most varied situations. And he always asked me to hit him when I thought I had a chance. Except, I usually found no room to strike. And when I did, I would miss the target. He is complete in the clinch, and the approach on the ground. I have no more doubt as to whether he can beat anyone, up to 93 kg"

Nice post but not gonna happen, GSP will push him against the fence ala BJ and beat him with elbows from there. Rickson cannot take GSp down, its not possible. GSP doesnt need to take Rickson down unless Rickson starts flopping.
And also forcing a restart, they would stand you up right?..again its not fair because the Gracies did alot for MMA and they do deserve respect.

Certainly I think that GSP could KO Rickson, as odds are he wouldn't get taken down. But Rickson is much much better than you give him credit for.
There is no reason to think that a guy who he would have a noticable size advantage over would control Rickson on the ground. Who from all known reports is basically a demon on the ground. Any of the grappling I have seen him do has been top notch.
Also comparing Rickson to BJ.... For arguments sake lets assume they have equal BJJ skill, If Rickson had that omoplata in deep then he would have 30lbs of muscle and therefore strength on BJ to force it in.
GSP is not an eliete guard destroying machine, hell I would favour BJ if he was the same size.

I don't think that Rickson could score a takedown on GSP. Though I believe Ricskson would start pulling guard when this realization sits in.
And also forcing a restart, they would stand you up right?..again its not fair because the Gracies did alot for MMA and they do deserve respect.I don't believe Rickson would want a restart. The fight may become very dull while GSP is strong, and Rickson would be trying to wear him down. I think it would be more likely that Gracie would submit GSP than GSP would bust Rickson up on the ground. Stand-ups and restarts would be likely otherwise, and then a GSP decision would probably occur under today's rules.
