i remember sitting down with my mates to watch enzo mac against david haye and them telling me mac would win....welsh bias....im english picked haye but not on bias coz i like mac....met him down enzos gym...but hes not good enough to actually own a title and beat the best!!!!

Former world champion Enzo Maccarinelli will face Hungary's Krisztian Jaksi on the Amir Khan undercard on Saturday.
Jaksi, from Budapest, is a 24-year-old with six wins, 12 losses and four draws to his name ahead of the six-round bout at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.
Former WBO cruiserweight champion Maccarinelli, 29, suffered his third knock-out defeat in four fights when he met Russian Denis Lebedev in July.
That prompted the Swansea fighter to contemplate retirement from the sport.
But he will return on the show topped by Dmitriy Salita's challenge for Khan's WBA light-welterweight crown.
Big-hitting Welshman Maccarinelli lost his crown last year to David Haye, but the Swansea puncher is aiming for a fresh start against Jaksi.

"After my last fight against Denis Lebedev there was talk of me retiring," said Maccarinelli.
"I had a long think about where my career was going, but I've got my hunger back now.
"Being a world champion meant a lot to me and it hurt so much losing my world title.
"There's no way that I'll quit before I win it back and the plan is to have a couple of warm-up fights before stepping up to championship level in 2010.
"There were a few things that weren't right in the ring against Lebedev and it wasn't a question of me not being good enough, I just didn't fight the right fight.
"But I know that I've still got a lot left to offer and I've been really buzzing in the gym these last few months."
Maccarinelli still has a formidable 29-4 (with 22 KOs) record and believes he will be back to his old self in the north east.
"I've had a nightmare 18 months or so, but it's time for a fresh start," he added.
"My mind was getting too cluttered but people are going to be seeing an old-school Enzo up in Newcastle and I'll be back to my knock-out best."

I'm sick of his pathetic excuses. Losing three of four by dramatic stoppage is not a matter of "doing things wrong in preparation."

He wasn't making tactical errors against Afolabi or Lebedev, he just couldn't hold a flush shot. Against Haye he just didn't have the ability to beat the guy in front of him. Haye has ruined him.

Ever since, Enzo has just made excuses for his increasingly poor form. They always come back to: "I didn't train properly, I shouldn't have been in the ring."

So, maybe you should try training properly?

in fairness he did make tactical changes against lebedev he tried too box a bit more he tried to box on the backfoot which didnt suit him but i think his finished personally an i dont think he ever proved him self anyway

Met the guy at the Khan/Kotelnik weigh in and he is a top bloke, always had time for fans etc. But, was at his last two fights and it was pretty painful - i think it is time he called it a day.
