Floyd wins on boring pts ..
Floyd is the favorite and if they fought today he takes a close decision. But he walks through hell to get it and it is his toughest fight. Cotto is for real, if they fight in two years I would favor him if he continues to ascend.

Don't care what anyone says, as of RIGHT NOW Cotto is not on the level of prime Castillo not even close. That being said, Mayweather wooped Castillo's ass twice in a row.
Case closed.
wooped Castillo's ass twice ????:huh

I wouldn't be so quick to bet on Mayweather where this one is concerned. I think Cotto has the sytle and the tools to cause him big, big trouble. I really liked the way Cotto responded against Judah - and that was his big problem previously.
Pretty boy won't like those body shots.

MAN PLEASE...Floyd is tough to the body...I've never even seen him hurt by any bodyshots...Floyd wins this fight by tough UD next year at the MSG...

Has PBF retired for sure or is that just BS to try and create hype when he makes his 'stunning comeback'?

I'd go Mayweather on a close decision, but Cotto has a shot. Both of these guys are really tough and can take some punishment equally.
Cotto's relentlessness is going to cause Floyd all kinds of trouble.

i was thinking the same thing......however, i would still pick mayweather by fairly easy decision, he is better now than he was when catillo gave him trouble in the first fight

Yes you have. It's just that Floyd doesn't show you he's been hurt to the body which is not the same thing at all. No fighter who has ever lived is so tough to the body that they brush of being hit in the ribs by a great body puncher.
It's just that the tough guys don't show.

Put it this way - he's got the best shot out of anyone around this weight. I'd probably pick Cotto. I think Floyd edges it in the punishment-taking stakes though. A bit.

I'd pick Cotto because I like Cotto, but inside I'd feel that Mayweather would get it.

I'd cheer for Cotto and I think he has a decent chance, but I'd favor Mayweather to win with that lame style of his.

Bullshit.
Cotto RIGHT NOW at 147lbs is a bigger threat to Floyd than Castillo at 135lbs.
And by the way Im totally convinced you didnt watch that first ass whopping, so to speak.

You want to see a fight where Floyd gives an undeniably impressive performance?
This is it. Why?
Because, if he attempts to pot-shot, Cotto will simply outhustle him with a steady stream of hard combinations, once he gets in close (and, yes, Cotto will find a way to get in close). However, Floyd still can throw impressive combinations, both at range, and in close, and, right now, I think he's still capable of making the adjustments needed to survive Cotto's attack.
Cotto will have his moments. He will win his share of rounds. It wouldn't shock me if could pull out a win. But, at this moment, I think Mayweather wins a close decision after twelve hard-fought, aesthetcially pleasing rounds that will serve to enhance both fighter's credibility.

Very good post. Cotto is a hell of a threat to Floyd because he pressures relentlessly and has thudding power. I could envision Cotto finding a way to get to PBF and actually think he's a bigger threat than Oscar was to PBF. I'd love to see this fight.

Why even bother to argue with someone who says that Mayweather "wooped " Castillo twice when the rest of the boxing wolrd knows what really went down in their 1st fight .

Mayweather, but Cotto and SSM are the biggest threats to his record right now.
Floyd 116-112.

"Rest of the boxing world" actually saw Floyd win. Want to run a poll? Go ahead it's been done on this site multiple times and the majority of peeps always see Floyd winning. Yes the fight was relatively close but so what, Floyd still won, and guess what? Gave him an immediate rematch and then really wooped dat ass easily.
You sound like a bitter hater. Can't take the loss huh? Sucks to be you.
I saw him win but did he woop Castillos' ass ?? Please enlighten me !! Than poll that ! It don't suck to be me cuz I don't live in a dream land tell me how the air is in Delusional Land !I am not the one that calls a close win an ass whoopin ..:good

I did say the fight was 'relatively close' didn't I? By relatively I mean relative to Floyd's other fights. But who cares how close it was, the point is Floyd CLEARLY WON. And just to shut little haters up, he rematched him immediately like a real man and then WOOPED DAT ASS EASILY. Is that so hard to understand?
I don't disagree about the 2nd fight it was much more clear in the reamcth ..But to say he wooped him twice just made me wonder what the hell were you watching ..I hope that clears that up for you because I can't stand people who love to exxagerrate !

Floyd would win. Floyd would counter Cotto all day. Cotto tends to leave himself open alot, and tends to be off balance a lot. Floyd would pick Cotto apart :yep

the biggest threats to PBF today are Shane Mosely and no one seems to give a damn. So it looks like PBF will duck him and Cotto. Cotto is the real deal.
PBF hasnt the balls to challenge Winky or Hopkins at 160 or he would defenitely lose there.
Imperial1
06-18-2007, 12:43 PM
Winky should beat PBF but no way Hopkins can beat PBF at his age.
What ?? So will you say the same thing if Hopkins beats Wright ?

Floyd hits hard to the body too and has probably stopped more guys to the body than Cotto has, remember Sharmbra? Nuff said. Point is, anything Cotto can do, Floyd can do better. Who says Cotto can take body shots well?
Floyd can beat him at his own game, or any game for that matter, and will.
Ridiculous. You're going to tell me Floyd can stand and trade with Cotto and still win yet he ain't got the cajones to stand and fight with Baldomir who is not as powerful as Cotto?
Cotto is far too strong and hard-hitting to exchange powershots with...especially for Mayweather.

No way in hell FMJ stands and trades with Cotto - he may say he will, like he said he wouldnt take a backward step with DLH - but who is dumb enough to believe that talk from him at this point? . . oh yeah, his nuthuggers might.

PBF by Unanimous Decision.

If PBF let his hands go towards the end he would win via KO no question, Cotto is too slow to take care of Floyd and that chin of his could let him down late if he is exhausted.
