Love him or hate him, there is no doubt Josh Koscheck has proven himself inside of the Octagon. Coming off a win over the always dangerous Anthony Johnson at UFC 106 this past Saturday evening, Koscheck unleashed his emotions in a post fight rant, claiming he was the true #1 contender.
In the fallout from UFC 106 Kos has had numerous accusations thrown his way about the “illegal” knee strike to the face by Johnson.Even “Rumble” himself has gone on record to accuse Koscheck of using the time to recoup from being hurt during the first round.
Koscheck has recently made use of his Twitter account to comment on the situation, stating:
U haters can suck my d***! Haha love this Twitter sh*t talking. A faker never gets up and doesn’t fight after that a eye poker…
I know what’s up 2 the real motherf****** out there true KOS fans! 1st off it was a eye poke on the ground not the knee
But what the f*ck do I care!!! 140k in fight of the night and tapout of the night!! so keep hate’n.

How can anyone hate on him ? He got kneed in the face when he is done that is ILLEGAL no mistake about it. I dont recall seeing this recovery from getting his ass kicked that Koscheck needed. People need to stop making excuses for Johnson getting choked the fuck out. Not saying it to any of you guys but I mean MMA fans alot are running their mouths. As a fighter you have to love Josh Koscheck he will fight ANYONE and ANYTIME come on the dude fought Thiago Alves on like 3 weeks notice and fought 5 weeks after taking a beating in that fight. Kos goes in there and bangs looking to take someones head off everytime hes turning in to somewhat of a Chuck Liddell just he will use his takedowns alittle more and seems to be one handed instead of 2 like Chuck.

People hate him because he generally acts like a douchebag. Well that's the impression I get anyway. A lot of people seem to bring up TUF 1. What did he do in that?
Plus he's stupid.

Was stuck up Bobby Southworth's ass and sprayed Chris Leben with a hose when Leben slept outside but Southworth made a rude comment about Chris being a "fatherless bastard" that hurt him deep. They of course did wind up fighting where Josh just did his best lay and pray like he did for years in the UFC but damn he has came far from that. Koscheck is an asshole though always has and always will.

Hmm. I can defo see why people dislike him. Not to mention he is a cocky bastard. But like you said, there is no doubt he has come on as a fighter. His striking is fairly decent now and he faired pretty well with Johnson.
I can't help but feel also that although he should be praised for taking on anyone, anytime, it is sometimes a bad idea. Alves on 2 weeks notice - bad idea. Fighting GSP when he did wasn't a great idea. Fighting Paulo Thiago was pretty stupid. It's stopped him from getting a title shot I think. Sometimes rushing headlong into every fight isn't a great idea.
Yeah, I don't get the hate. People are implying that he was faking a knee to the face, which he was not. He was poked in the eye about a second before, so the missed knee is arbitrary. And regardless of whether or not it missed, Rumble should never have thrown it.
Saying he was faking it implies that he was looking for a way out of the fight. That implies, in turn, that he was afraid of Rumble. Call Koscheck what you will, but a coward isn't a word I would use. He stepped up last minute to face Thiago Alves, the most feared striker in the division at the time. He's jumped into fights in back-to-back months. He's asked to be put in with the best. He wants to fight 12 times next. 12 times! He's never ducked an opponent in his life. So, no, Josh Koscheck is not a coward who would fake an injury. Maybe a little stupid, but never afraid.
At the end of the day, Koscheck got back up after the eye gouge and proceeded to take Rumble apart. As for Rumble, time for you to move up to 185, big boy, and work on that ground game.

I thought he was an idiot in TUF1 but he has clearly grown since and brings a lot of skill to the ring. He is probably my favorite fighter

Koscheck is a Top WW, of course, but imo, he's still behind GSP, Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves.

Hed beat Fitch and Thiago. Kos took that fight in two weeks notice and he had his moments. If they fight again, hed manhandle Thiago. Kos is the only one in 5 years to take GSP down.
Also its hard to hate on the guy, he works his ass off and he fights every month. We need more Kos in the cage. Hes an elite wrestler who takes risks and stands up with the best of them.

haha you forgot to add that he poked Anthony in boths eyes en route to his win. Anthony didn't take 5 minutes to recoup, let a lone 1 minute. Fuk Kos

Not really disagreeing with too much, as I do think Kos is an A+ fighter and has a hell of a worth ethic, just pointing out that that one takeodown he had against GSP at UFC 74, he barely, and I mean BARELY got that. And once he attained top position, he did nominal damage and couldn't really do much.
Now, obviously they've both improved, but Georges has improved dramatically so.

Well Kos ran out of time the round ended when he got the takedown. Keep in mind that Kos hasnt practised wrestling in a couple of years, its been 90% striking for him. This guy is an elite wrestler and if decides he wants to get better on the ground, he wont have to improve much.
GSP stills wins this fight, I agree..His standup is so much crisper now
