That stands for at least eleven and a half rounds being completed. If you think the fight will go the scheduled distance, bet on the over. If you think it well end prematurely in any way (knockout, technical knockout, corner retirement, technical decision, no contest, or disqualification) go with the under.

Great question.

My interpretation (and we should probably make sure all the bookies are on the same page here) is that Froch vs. Taylor, for instance, would qualify as "over 11.5" despite not going the distance. Since it's presented as an over/under and not with the language "inside or outside the distance" we go by the technicality of ninety seconds into the 12th round being the line.
