Kali Meehan will now step into the DaVarryl Williamson fight, so at least the undercard of McCline-Peter will be decent.

Good to see the undercard filling out. It will be interesting to see how TOS looks. Thanks for the update.

Kali Meehan was supposed to fight Tye Fields a couple months back but that didnt fall through, meehans not bad but not good. I feel Kali will go the distance with Williamson and lose by UD.

It seems like a pretty decent replacement for McCline, considering the situation.

TOS late KO. TOS needs to step things up quickly. He's already pretty old.

I think the best fight on the undercard is Jose Antonio Rivera vs Daniel Santos. Unfortunately it will not be on TV.

Yeah, he was old when he turned pro, relatively speaking. He needs an impressive win against Meehan and another fight pretty quickly.

Lame Don King/Duva card. All King/Duva fighters are B-level with except Peter.

Touch of Sleep is no stranger to fighting big men. He beat T-Rex Sanders and knocked Wlad down. Meehan's got a weak chin so expect Williamson to tag him and end it.

TOS by 5th round KO. Meehan is only a brawler with some decent infighting ability, Williamson can actually box pretty good and he has a big punch if he lands just right.

Meehan was scheduled to get beaten up by Golota in November. :bbb

Williamson by decision sounds about right, yes.

Good fight, though. These ought to both be good scraps.

Good chance for Meehan, TOS has looked hot and cold of late, he is getting on a bit.

Meehan has improved out of sight thanks to better conditioning and better training.
Still journeyman at best, he will be hard pressed to beat TOS.

TOS is #4 on the WBA.
Meehan is #15 on the WBA.

If TOS wins this one he may move ahead of #3 Ruiz and #2 Liakhovich, and then get in line for a title fight in 2008.

Meehan just totally dropped off the radar for me after getting pummelled by Rahman. What's he been up to?

Semi-retirement. He occasionally fights some journeyman, but in general is a part time boxer.

Hmm, tall hard hitter versus a hard hitting semi-retired boxer from the southern hemisphere? We know what happened last time we saw that. :rofl

Can't say that Williamson would deserve the shot vs. Chagaev, but if he does beat Meehan, he should move ahead of the inactive Ruiz & Liakhovich, especially since both guys have turned down title-elimination bouts vs. Williamson.

More likely is that Williamson would move to #2, and then have to fight Valuev for the mandatory.

It would be interesting to see Valuev in with a mobile, big-punching heavyweight....

I agree that TOS would beat & KO Meehan but Valuev would beat the shit outta TOS, look what Mesi did to him. Valuev would win by KO in 5 or so.

Kali is gutsy. But at his peak he could only ever be considered a journeyman.

Williamson, should never get another title shot not after his abismal title challenge of Chris Byrd.

Since Kali took this on fairly short notice, i doubt he wins.
Tho Kali does have some heart so u never know.
Williamson on points IMO.

All u gotta do is stick and move against Valuev. He's very slow and pondersome. You do what Chagaev did. When u see the openings you let your combinations go and then get the hell out. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Williamson could do this. I'm not sure how long he can sustain it but he can execute this strategy. Plus, his punches will sting Valuev when they land cuz he can crack. It would be a cat and mouse game for a while but I think the cat will eventually corner the mouse and end it.

Both of these fighters were never top-level fighters even at their best. At their best: B-level fighters. Right now: C-level journeymen. It really doesn't matter who wins, but it should be entertaining. Williamson by mid-rounds stoppage.

Davarryll will stop Kali.. I remember Meehan having a great run of victories a few years ago but then ruins it with some horrid outings..Too inconsistant..

Davarryll will take 4 rounds to look closely at him then just pile on the pressure and rat a tat tat a stoppage over him with accurate solid punches..

Sounds about right. Meehan just has this unsteady look about him in the ring. It's really no surprise that he seemingly gets wobbled everytime he takes a power punch. Brewster and Rahman had him all over the place on numerous occasions and Williams had him out with 1 punch. This is Williamson's fight to lose. Happy to see Meehan get a little payday here though. He's a good guy.
