View Full Version : Would you be fussed about Mayweather vs Matthew Hatton.

I do not see why they seem to think they need a British fighter to sell the fight.
Joshua Clottey would be nice.

I hope it gets made just to see the other Hatton get outclassed again. By the way is it son, dad or yncle that is fighting Matthew?

I would watch. :hey
Do it, do it, do it.
If Mayweather had an open sparring session held in the UK, id probably go and watch... hence i would watch a Mayweather - Lil baby Hatton fight if he came off...
Would def be a waste of time though, PBF would get plenty of stick for it, not worth it! 147 is too good a division to make a mickey mouse match with Matt hatton.

WTF, who mentioned this?? Fuck, Mayweather senior could beat him, and maybe even snr snr could beat him once they pull him out of a retirement home somewhere, and would go as far as saying Khan would beat him also, he's that bad:D I take it this thread was born out of boredom??

They need a British fighter to sell the fight well enough to pay Mayweather more than Vegas will pay Mayweather. Theres no chance of it happening because we don't have a good enough opponent in this country.

I'd be rooting for Hatton to do a Breides Prescott on him, thus killing any chance of a $50m purse with Pacman
Would be a disgrace if he rematched the good Hatton. Fight Matthew and I think
Dan684's post might not be a bad idea
This would be one of the most cowardly acts in the history of boxing.

supposedly according to Roach they want the fight in March but Mayweather and his camp want it in September. So both will have tune up fights early in 2010 before fighting in September by the looks.

So if Pac fights Foreman does this mean he's ducking Williams and Mosley or is it only Floyd that gets the ducking stuff?
And no im not comparing the two in terms of taking fights, Pac has clearly took more challenges, just interested.

Foreman is a world champ at 154.
Matthew Hatton is not a champ in Britain, the guy is not good enough to be an English champ.

Yeah I know that. But since everyone is so obsessed with ducking and im sure we'd all agree that Paul Williams is a harder fight than Foreman is Pacquiao ducking Williams?

If this fight was to be made I'd give up on Mayweather for good.
If he fights in the Uk it would be great but fighting Hatton is a joke. PBF should fight Clottley, Mosley or Margarito before a fight with Pacquaio.
Floyd will probaly fight either Hatton or Alfonso Gomez for his fight prior to Manny.

I've not seen or heard anything on this since this thread: where has all this talk suddenly come from? I don''t see a link in sight and it's a completely illogical fight and probably the last on PBF's agenda as well. Anyone got the stones on this one, please?:D:good

If Mayweather fights Ann Widecombe I'd go and watch it, so if he is counting on mindless prats who just want to say theyve seen him live he can count one me to fill one seat
I'd still want Widdecombe to lay him out though
Manny fighting Yuri is akin to him fighting David Diaz and its ODH'ish in its cynicism, What the hell is Foreman gonna be able to bring ot the fight?
Still, its not as bad as Hatton getting the call

Cheers, Uzi, mate:good. I will lose a lot of respect for PBF if he took this fight. As Rob said, why not take on a solid opponent like Clottey at 147. Or maybe even a fight at 154? Maybe with Mini Chavez?:think That would be an easy tune-up and would also make a shitload of money.
I have no respect for Matt Hatton as it is anyway so if this fight is made I will dislike him even more. Unfuckingbelievable- we have the cheek to moan at Arum for promoting Mini Chavez the way he does, but we near enough have exactly the same thing in this country in our very own Magic Matt:lol:!
Fucking stupid fight and an absolute piss-take to all the hardworking British fighters out there who don't have a bigger brother to protect them and blow smoke up their ass.
All of that rant said, I will be very, very suprised if this ends up happening. Why not fight N'Dou in Africa if he wants a tune-up? That could make a decent amount of dosh:think

To be fair to Mayweather that article contains no fight date, no venue, no quotes from Mayweather or any of his team about the fight (no, Floyd bullshitting Sky Sports last time his was over here doesn't count!!). Its factual content is pretty much zero.

11-30-2009, 02:14 PM
Thing is,if money's his motivation,is he really going to make the sort of cash he's acustomed to by fighting this joke???

I am not suprised. This has came out of the blue and is very hard to believe. PBF isn't as stupid as people think and if he were to opt for a tune-up, it would also have to make financial sense for him.
I would also not be suprised to see him take on the winner of Mosley-Berto (i.e. Mosley) whilst Pac has another fight (maybe with Foreman). The hype for the fight would only get bigger.
lefthook82
11-30-2009, 02:49 PM
The problem with all these tune-ups is that at one point the tune-up is not going to read the script.
Mayweather banks on his 0. Without it, what does he have. Pacman has been beaten 3 times and nobody cares, he still has that aura about him. Mayweather when that 0 goes it will be second*only to the aura Tyson lost when he lost his 0(In my opinion of course).
So keep taking thes etune ups and when one lands one and scuppers your plans dont say you werent warned

That Fighthype article is kinda old. However, there's a new article on the scene that says Pac wants to fight in March but Floyd wants it in May. Pac doesn't want a May fight as he plans to run for Congress around that time (:fire).
That's why Roach says they might fight Yuri Foreman in March with the Floyd fight in September. Meanwhile, Floyd supposedly takes a tune up in England.
All a fuck up.

WTF, this cant be right, Mathew Hatton against PBF!!!
Saying that worse things have happened in boxing, i dont know about you guys, but i cant believe PBF is willing to take on one of the most dangerous fighters that these shores has produced in years!!!!, and is willing to risk everything in taking this fight, all i can say is that PBF has got some guts in even considering it, he will for a fact come away from this fight if it were to happen suffering from severe nose bleeds, perforated eardums, cracked ribs, severe migraine for weeks, that alone should put him off taking this fight IMO.
And he will recieve all this from the interview after the fight, just listening to Hatton trying to convince himself that he was winning prior to getting stopped after 12 seconds including the count, its amazing what injuries excessive laughing you can inflict upon one self....:lol::lol::lol::lol:

The bullshite flying from both sides already, Roach said the other day March is to early! Now its fine but with a different opponent.
If it was Roger Mayweather that had said that......
I think it'll get done but have always thought March - May is a bit early and they'd hype it for a bit longer yet. Floyd v a bum and Pac v Foreman would dent peoples enthusiasm though if anything.

On a sidebar; Why is Shane still going around saying he is the best at 147 and he will fight Anyone when its obvious he dont want none of Paul williams?
Also why is Goosen still trying to have Paul "fight the best" at 147 when its obvious that Shane, mayweather, Cotto and yes...even Josh Clottey..lol...want no piece of him at that weight.
Im saying the way things are shaping up paydays and competition that will actually step to the punisher are at the middle and super middle.

I know it'd probably never happen. If Mayweather was to have a fight in the UK before the Pac one (which isn't out of the question) he could tempt anybody he wanted from the world over to come over and fight him. He wouldn't need a British name to entice the fans over, his name alone would be enough to fill any Arena and he could get any decent name ie. Mosely and they'd probably fill a stadium

mayweather vs shane is too big to be in the UK, anyway no chance in hell of mayweather fighting shane, only Mosley and paul stand a chance of beating mayweather all the way up to 160.
