Ya got to admit, it's been a funny couple of weeks in the building up of this fight. The likes of Natech360, Luds and others, creating quite a stir on this humble-pie of a forum. Negative sentiments have been thrown from either side of the Atlantic, Country and State as our eager little fingers tap away at the keyboard, all hurrying to tell another what his Mother has been doing!!!!
Out of the rubble that will lay scattered beneath our feet after tomorrow nights encounter, one thing will be of notable mention. GREEN AND CO. TOOK THE FIGHT. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll win the fight, or make any future impact on the World stage again, although my hat is taken off to Green and Co. Why?? Well, it's pretty simple... Green made a comeback, he's faced Niekerk and Dominquez.. Now he's facing RJJ. Is this a BIG DEAL??? It must be... The crowd is on par with the combined total of Mundines last 6 outings, in respect to those who actually paid for their tickets. Is this fight a farce?? It could be a bit crooked, but I doubt it. The monies involved are said to $20mil+ after PPV's etc etc etc. A very nice little earn will be pocketed by both camps... so... If the fight is a bit crooked, perhaps our bearded arse raping friend Khoder Nasser could pay some attention to how its done.
The Mundine Mob have done nothing that comes close to this, except the bout with Danny Green. Neither of these two blokes need to battle one another, as Green will not beat Mundine at any weight, although seeing Mundine fight a well credential name in the future... well...we've been waiting a long time for that. Mundine simply does not have the balls to face Geale again, and unless the Arab cunt manager is working seriously hard behind the scenes to make a huge fight in the USA or Europe.. which I doubt, perhaps dragging a seasoned veteran to our shores would entice a better public following to the Mundine shows, instead of the all too numerous Cabbies.

Well over 300 venues nationwide showing it, and thats not counting Sydney where the MainEvent site cracks a spaz every time I try to delve deeper. I'll try again tomorrow but I reckon they'd be close to 400 right now, at least.

Good work flamengo...only thing I disagree with is that Mundine beats Green at any weight.
Depending on how he looks tomorrow night, and based on Mundine's lacklustre performances against ordinary opponents of late, I think Green can handle Mundine at LHW or above.

I agree with most of it, except the the fight Mundine made with Geale that was a top match up with 2 top 160 fighters and it did make big money and had a 10 000 people at the venue. it was a big fight.

Win or loose at least when Danny and we look back on his career when all is said and done at least he/we can see that he did have the courage and heart to test himself against one of the GOATS....
and as i read on Jermain Taylors twitter lol after the lose to Abaraham

It's going to be a long time between drinks to see another boxer on our shores of RJJ's ilk....very hard to top...not to mention that this is the first time he has even left his own backyard to take a fight.
I do think your being a bit stiff on DG's chances at ant wieght on AM....light heavy is certainly DG's domain.

Fair enough mate, I just think Mundine would adapt well to any weight rise. I hope the fight doesnt materialise anyway. Cheers.

Well said flamengo.
I was doubtful of this fight even happening and gave a bit of stick to some of the posters who I thought were naive and gullible at the time.
Is it bigger than Mundine/Green?
Well, my opinion on that fight was that it happened 2 or 3 years too late, and by the time it came around, I wanted both fighters to get knocked the fuck out
The Mundine/Green fight probably meant more to Australians than tonights fight, but in the grand scheme of things, the Green/Jones fight is far bigger. The fight will be watched by people in the US, etc.
I've been critical of Danny in the past, but have always maintained that he's at his most likable and best whenever Mundine is out of his system. I think he got drawn into Mundine's abyss of stink for a few years, and IMO, wasn't as likable.
While Mundine's continuing his sideshow bullshit act, etc...Green has got back to business and has been able to bring RJJ to Australia. Big props to that.
Well done to Danny, and I hope he wins tonight. :good

I agree. All props to Danny for fighting a world class legend & bringing him down under. Its one thing to talk the talk aka mandy, but to step up & walk the line, even against an ageing legend of the sport, well full kudo's to Danny. He mighten win tonight but I hope he gets his chance to punch on with mandy again & do everyone a favour by knocking him out this time.

What if Green loses a close fight i.e. SD or even a draw? :think
I, like many can only see it going one of 2 ways -
Heart: Green touches Jones up early and Jones goes into his shell and Green stops him by KO, or the ref stops it via TKO or towel thrown in by Jones' corner
Head: Jones outboxes Green for 12 rounds winning by clear UD
So what if Green can actually hang with Jones, and looks very good in losing a close fight?
Could be excellent for his career and open up many big fights for him.

Good post to start the thread Flamengo - put into words what most have been thinking.
Green v RJJ will probably pan out very much like Green v Mundine did IMO - though perhaps Roy will stop him late rounds.
If Danny is successful, and I certainly hope he is, it'll be Green v Mundine II for the cruiser title in a similar catchweight agreement to this fight (ie around 190 lbs) - the only thing more certain is the sun coming up tomorrow.

If Danny wins he should look for big name overseas fights & tell Mundine to piss off. A rematch and even revenge would be very nice, (and unlikely, Mudine would never move up enough) but Green can do better by not letting the Mundine loss define his achievements.
Mundine would be great at Cruiser, he would be strong and healthy at the weight and still waaaay too good for Green.

Probably right, and I reckon we'll soon find out if Green beats RJJ.
Don't reckon Green or Mundine are looking to hang around boxing indefinately, and part of the reason Mundine is only 'marking time' at present is he's waiting to see whether Green get's through this one title intact.

hahaha, he would be slower and be getting hit with more power at CW than he was at SMW and MW.
Ottke, Nishy, Siaca all dropped him at SMW, and with his fucked vision he would be running scared all night :yep
