Thoughts?

Well yes, most likely. Anybody who thinks otherwise must be halucinating. :D

It's only logical to think so . . . because Hatton also has speed and power. I don't think PBF will stand his ground and trade.

In other and or better words, PBF will hit and not be hit, yes.

He'd be an idiot to stand and trade with Hatton. If he pot shots Hatton as he's coming in, then steps off and backs away, he can win a wide UD. If gets cocky and tires to trade, if he loses concentration, if he gets caught on the ropes or if he's not in good shape he ships punishment, loses rounds and risks getting hurt or even knocked out. Floyd's got a decent chin, but Hatton does have one punch KO power.

I don't think so

Hatton is too fast moving forward for that to work. He isn't interested in setting his feet to punch. He jumps in while punching. That is not a man that you can back away from to find distance.

Even if the ref does not tolerate the holding, this fight will be fought very close much of the time. If the ref does tolerate the holding, they will be in a phone booth most of the time. Hatton will make sure of that.

Tactically speaking he probably should if all he wants to do is win. Hattons best chance of winning is drawing him in to close exchanges and banging him up.

Hattons style wont allow him to just be potshotted. Floyd is going to have to dig in a little with Hatton and thats why I think this fight will be a real good one. Hatton will make it an exciting fight for sure.

if he cant faze Hatton with his power expect him to make it another Castillo fight. The first Castillo fight was exciting, he was trading with JLC, but Jose got the best of him. The secong JLC fight he changed his gameplan. I don't think Hatton has enough at 147 to compete with the elite. @140 he has a better chance, but so does PBF.

So, if he can't faze Hatton, he'll put his running shoes on...smart tactic i guess

I think we'll see alot of Floyd's inside game in this one..

Fighters who attempts to dig floyd's body always fails.

Philip Ndou tried this and look what happened to him. Floyd gave him a brain tumor and retired him.

Of course Hatton is on another level but the result will be no different.

Floyd doesn't run, he boxes. The only time when he ran was against Baldomir but I don't blame him.

Of all the times to run, why do it against a guy with much less KO power than several of the fighters you've already beat?

That's like asking will Hatton hold, grab, push, and wrestle!!!!!! Of course Floyd will, winning a lopsided UD and embarrassing Hatton in the process.

He'll pick his spots.

Use movement (or "run") at times, trade at close/mid quarters at other times.

Unfortunately I think there will be a decent share of holding from both sides.

Your post has nothing to back it up as logical. If floyd stands in hattons range long enough, his body will get banged up bad. It doesn't matter how elusive your are, or how god your chin is. your body will get hit, and your ribs are liable to crack when hit by a body puncher as viciously effective as the hitman. Floyd will have to fight going backward and counter all night if he wants to win. I think he can and
will do this, but all this nonsense of him having a field day is just that.
NONSENSE!

What will happen:

The fight will be hyped beyond belief. When the bell rings Floyd will do his usual hit and run away tactic, and once in a while Hatton will grab him but fail to do any real damage (in other words it will be boring). The fight will be a big yawn as Floyd wins by decision and then later whine as usual how the critics aren't giving him the respect he thinks he deserves. Then he will say he's retiring until his next big paycheck. Hatton will most ask for a rematch, and will get one if Floyd makes twice as much money from the first fight.

Of course he will.

It's his best way to win. All this 'toe-to-toe' moonshine is a pipe dream.

i see this fight being a lot like the burton fight. Where burton kept trying to walk floyd down and floyd just stood there picking him off as he came in and using inside angles to beat burton to the punch on the inside.

I think that floyd will actually beat ricky on the inside as well as on the outside for most of the fight. I hope Ricky is ready for this cause he still have a chance to beat him he just has to be prepared for the fact that for at least the first half of th fight floyd will be beating him everywhere.

Mayweather has slowed a little; it showed in the De lahoya fight
Hatton has been more active and that will be an advantage.
Dancing with the stars is not going to help either.

Hatton needs to avoid Mayweathers shots as he comes in. Thats the key to the fight. That and the ref!

If Hatton can cut off the ring he will hurt Mayweather and will I believe go on to win the fight. If however Mayweather can use his movement to full effect Hatton is in for a hard night. I feel Hatton has the abliity to keep Mayweather in his distance and I also do not think Mayweather has shown the same mobility in his last few fights. I do not see a half way house here, this fight will either be a long boring tactical battle or it will be an all out war. I suspect the latter.

Idiots who claim Floyd runs don't know good defense when thay see it. So shut up and stay off the boards. Floyd may potshot, but he never runs. He slips and slides and counters. Those potshots score points.
