You really should, he has to be the favourite. I wouldnīt be surprised if Pac pulls it out somehow but objectivly I canīt see him win.
Great this fight happens though.

Any idea of tuneups or interim fights before the big one, just got a big reconfirmation of why they shouldnt, with the Jones Jr fight. :hey

Since I heard that tidbit last night, now Im hearing both fighters have agreed to terms but the venue is still not dialed in. I really was suprised too, as Vegas can always anty up enough cash to land the fight and knockout a stadium.

I think fans should lobby for this fight to be a 15 rounder.

Are we talking boxing here or business? Come on, you know like I do that tune-ups have an important place in this sport. Robinson, Ali, all of them did it. Yeah, times have changed but fighting once every year or two is ridiculous.
Besides, Jones was shell-shocked. A completely different situation than Mayweather, altogether.
And BTW - you know as well as I a Mayweather/Mat Hatton fight only ppulls if Floyd wants a few bi-monthly tune-ups. Anything else is a crock.

Arum is talking to Pac as we speak. He will show him why its now or never for Pac, because if this fight falls through I dont see it happening ever.
If I was advising Jones Jr, I would have told him never to go back up to 180 pounds and fight a guy who could punch a little either, especially with the payday he had looming.
When you have a fight of Pac and Mayweather proportions you bet your ass its about business. He could buy the Phillipines with the purse hes going to get.:nut

There is no gambling in Texas. They dont have casinos.
Thats why i dont think this fight will happen there. The Casinos will be baiting the fight to be in Nevada.

I think so too. I dont think Jerry Jones will be able to ante up enough cash to make it happen. The MGM will simply match and one up everything Jones offers.

Floyd's poor punch output will see him lose a debatable decision.

Getting a little cocky, I see.
It's about business, such a big purse. Floyd's long shelf time and rumored choice of opponents isn't.
Am I wrong about the value of tune-ups? Am I wrong about how inactivity can hurt a fighter and rob fans of good competition?
Did not many a great fighter see the value in tune-ups and use them to their advantage?
I think you know where I was going with my earlier remarks, but toot away if it makes you feel good.

No I think youre right, dont get me wrong, but in this case Floyd is only about money, as is Arum, so they want to make this fight asap before its worth less money. Im not saying your comment was wrong, but as you said, times have changed.

PBF has always expressed the desire to be remembered as boxing's GOAT, and beating Pac is one of the few ways left to him for making the most of that lost and squandered cause. Beyond that, the sport itself needs every marquee promotion it can get. This one's too big and lucrative not to happen.

I was told by a very respected boxing writer yesterday who spoke to Floyd, that he is very angry at the unfair criticism that is being thrown his way. He believes Arum has launched a campaign thats hurt his reputation in the boxing world, and he wants to take Arum down badly by beating the shit out of his biggest weapon.
If he beats Pac, he can fight Mosley and not have to deal with Arum at all, and he will be fighting the guys who beat the man who beat the man that Arum used as weapons to discredit Floyds rep. Its interesting to hear that some of these writers are now starting to side and understand what Mayweathers been saying.

Let's hope so. However mega fights that include rival promoters are never easy. Bob Arum might want Pacman to fight someone else.
