This is just a thread to congratulate Danny for doing the seemingly impossible. All the threads are about jones being shot or the fight being rigged etc. Fuck that, credit where credit is due. I gave him no chance and he proved me wrong. Sure Jones was diminished, but he still held a top 5 ranking at 175 with one of the bodies. And he is still Roy fucking Jones. Mundine can fuck off, i bet he is GREEN with envy right now :yep
Proud to be an Aussie after watching that performance. Had a great night and i thought the venue was great.
PS. Phil Austin you did a good job of wanking around in the front rows wearing that tux :lol:. I was sitting next to Eamon Sullivan and behind Mick Gatto and i kept yelling out at you but i was too pissed to make much sense :D

Yep, good work Greeny, not many people gave him a chance against RJJ, despite him being past his best, but Green did what no one else has been able to do to RJJ - KO him in the 1st round.

Green has a goodnight kiss in both hands...fast and fit...RJJ is gonna be tested and is likely to sit on the canvas atleast once during this fight.
Green is not the prettiest fighter but he has stamina and strength.
Green has the power in his left.
I'd like to see RJJ clipped early and see if he can keep his shit together.
Clipped in the first few rounds it will bring RJJ unstuck at an early stage.
Once rattled it will be over for RJJ...
Green %80 KO Rate...RJJ gonna get some.
Very happy for Green.......the next 2 years will be very important for him, his chance to mark time as an Aussie fighter.

did chad bennett just realise he had taken enough and laid down? disappointing end because the first 4 rounds were action packed!
got some good photos, had a photo with steve waugh and he seemed like a nice bloke

Danny did the impossible in my eyes. Fantastic effort. I gave him no chance at all......none! I'm just eating the rest of my humble pie now. Still can't believe he KOed Roy in the 1st rd. Maybe he should fill in for Roy in March against Hopkins.

At 1.42 remaining just before green lands the blow rjj jands are down near his waist.
He may have watched how mundine ate green alive and thought he could emulate a similar style,but even choc whist showboating manages to have some sort of defense up.
Wish the fight was a few years earlier so i could give green proper credit,but rjj was finished before he entered the ring.
Please dont chase hopkins danny as he is even older.

I honestly have little emotion towards the result of the fight, it's sad to see Jones lose against a fighter of Greens quality but it's done, i'm just calling it how i see it. I think people are getting carried away because it's such a big upset apparently and not seeing it for what it was, the whole thing was a bit of a joke really.

Regardless if it did hit him there or not, it was Jones that moved his head into it by turning away, and is therefor to blame, not Danny.
As I said in the general forum, if Danny was to throw a straight right and Roy was to jump 5 feet in the air and the punch hit him in the nuts...would that be deemed illegal?

But where did most of those land? Gloves and arms! If he had connected with 44 shots to the target area, we would be praying for Roy about now! The knockdown punch was launched at the target area of the head, Roy turned his head and it partially landed behind the ear, no foul on Green's behalf. If Roy hadn't have turned his head it would have been all temple and he never would have got up
