everyone is shitting on his style but i think its a fun style. the last two fights were boring but the castillo one was fun while it lasted. and its not like hes holding and then just stopping. i think its intriguing to watch him bully his opponents around. its a WATERED down version of Roberto Duran who held CONSTANTLY. I dont want the geeks coming here now and saying how dare i compare the two but i think ive seen enough hatton and a helluva lot of duran fights to tell u how it is.

Its effective and gets him wins so I can't knock it but its far from pleasing in my opinion.

I don't mind it too much - It's effective because it tires and wears down opponents - not the prettiest style to watch however.

I find it more entertaining than Hopkins, Mayweather, & Taylor, but thats a personal pointof view! Before any of you come up with, 'oh you don't appreciate the sweet science of pure boxing with floyd & hopkins', thats not true.Hatton never ever runs from an opponent, he is constantly throwing shots & ok, he is not the most technically gifted but.......Also Castillo was worse than Hatton for clinching, headlocking and cheating.
Anyway, argue as you guys fucking please

I didnt see him hold much. It was Castillo that was holding to stop Hatton's bullrushes.
And I love his style. Im a big fan of inside fighting so Im a Hatton fan. He is the second best in fighter behind Miguel Cotto.

Exactly! It was Castillo who was wrapping his right arm round the shoulders of Hatton, unless you listen to that imbesile Lederman

Hopkins was actually very similar during the late 90s before he went all defensive on us. He was an inside fighter that would constantly clinch and maul his opponents. And I thought he was fun to watch also.

Fact is when called upon Hatton performs and rises to the occassion.

So glad hes only the un official ringside judge for HBO. He's made some bloody atrocious scorings in recent fights. Dont know which fight Lederman watches sumtimes.

hes technicaly underrated, the way he move in and out sometime is beautiful and so is it when he throw those short inside punches

I like Hatton's style a lot. He reminds me almost of a little Mike Tyson. I agree that he does hold a little excessively, but that's just all part of his game. He's got a lot of technical skills and he showed that against Castillo, who was simply outmatched. The only flaw I see in Hatton is that he seems to be strictly an inside fighter, but then again, with an undefeated record, how can you complain?

I love Hatton's style. Brutally effective.

Hatton's style minus the holding/clenching would be perfect.

He can't be an outside fighter, he is short and has no reach. Everyone needs to use the advantages god has given them, short arms are suited for inside fighting.

Exactly. And that's how he used to fight. Most of the holding he used to do was subtle, like quickly grabbing and turning his opponents into to position. Now I can't stand to see him fight.

But even with the holding he usually makes for exciting fights.
The refs simply need to enforce the rules, this goes for Hatton, Wlad, Cal with their holding, Fraud with his elbows and Casa with his . . well entire gameplan.

I enjoy it, he is in there to punish the other fighter.
