ricky stopped an african who's only defeat was against ali funaki and the guy also had a lot of ko's to his name, so thats a very good formline imo, alex morrison is ricky's manager thats why people would contact him regarding burns.

Billy. I am not doubting that Ricky is a talent. And i think he has a real shot to beat Martinez, who I think is big time under rated. also one of the main reasons for that is moving to your gym. But you cannot say he deserves a world title fight when he has not faced anyone beyond domestic level.
the Yakubu Amidu win is his best but if you look Amidus record he doesnt have a decent win. I do however accept that ricky is better that many british world title challangers in recent years.
The critics of Ricky Burns and your other fighters may be unfair but you need to realise even Muhamed Ali gets slagged of on internet forums.

I think that Ricky would take the fight in Puerto Rico if he got a better offer. facts is it goes to purse bids ****** will almost deffinatley win and ricky would make more than 50k without traveling.
its not burns turning down a world title fight, its burns negotiating a better deal.

Fighters like Burns - decent Euro level operators (IMO) shouldn't turn down title opportunities.

He turned down there offer of where its staged, not the fight itself.

Pretty sure he would rather have the fight here than Peurto Rico even if he was to lose a few k.

I would be shocked if he got less than 100k for a world title fight if it went to purse bids.

Funeka's a decent opponent .According to boxrec he's had 2 majority decisions . 1 to Yakubu Amidu which he won and his last fight a draw with Joan Guzman and Burns stopped Yakubu Amidu in 7.

i could become a pro and fight manny pacquaio and floyd mayweather and run around the ring for 12 rounds not getting stopped. doesnt make me a good fighter.

:lol. i see what you are saying but i don't think most would agree they could go 12 with pac and floyd even if they ran around the ring trying to survive.

:lol:If you could go 12 rounds with Pacman whilst holding a baseball bat I'd bite my own cock off. You dont do 12 rounds with him and Mayweather without being a good fighter

Ricky should'nt turn down the opportunity, should be thinking like Jennings against Cotto, youve got to take the chance if he gets beat he can bounce back if he wins there's bigger pay days in the future.
Look at Buchanan winning the title against Laguna in Puerto Rico and Stracey beating Napoles in Mexico sometimes its worthwhile taking the risk.

He didnt turn down the opportunity, his guys think they can get the fight over here instead and with better money. 50K for a world title fight aint big bucks, some british title fights go for more than that, and you dont have to travel half way round the world

Come on Billy your not telling me that it would be as low as 50k for a world title fight are you, I know some guys that fought for british titles and were nearly on that! Although Burns beng the challenger, I would expect a 70-30 split I suppose?!?
