what a terrible choice of opponent for a supposed dominant pound for pound champion. Great performance, but come on, Vinny Paz, who was basically an arturo gatti (in size and style...sort of, vinny paz stronger, but gatti had a better jab).

There was other titlists in the division, but he chose Mayorga cuz he was a big mouth who could sell like Roy did with Paz. In fact Jones was looking to fight then number two Frankie Liles who rejected the fight then Jones went after then number three paz. I know in hindsight its a fight that people cant pick on Jones for taking, but its a fight that would have been one that people would now be claiming that Jones ducked had he not took the fight.
