Just ordered this book. But has anyone already read it? And if so how good is it, and does it go into detail about things?
Were does it compare to other boxing book you have read?

It's an excellent book, factual and well written. Up with the Pollack books, "Unforgiveable Blackness" etc IMO.

I heartily recommend 'The Fearless Harry Greb'.
Pricey but essential.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm definitely sending the searchparty on this one. Langford is a fighter I have always been interested in but do not know much about. Sonny Liston also falls in that category. They have a certain mystery and enigma about them that really intrigues me.

That and the Greb book were great I read them back-to-back and then read the new book about James J. Jeffries. Made me wish I was born in 1880 to be able to go see those guys and all the others frthen (especiaaly the incomparible Dempsey and Ketchel) fight.:hat

Clays book was a great read, Flamengo even organised an inscription inside the front cover for me.

If I mentioned what it said, I doubt they'd believe it, even though Clay's a very sporting bloke.
