116-113 115-113 Gutknecht

116-113 Balzsay

Very close fight , could go either way but Gutknecht controlled the ring most of the fight and looked hungrier .

Just saw it.I saw Balszay several times so I knew what to expect from him, this was the first tiem I've seen Gutknecht.
Fight was very intersting, they started the first 4-5 rounds standing in te middle of the ring with Balszay landing the cleaner, harder shots, popping a good jab.I thought Gutknecht started very slowsly and sadly he was looking like thwe typical stand up European type fighter, good fundamentals, leaky defense, just pawing with the jab not shooting it hard,no movement,no body punching, etc.I thought Balszay won all the first 6 rounds, maybe 1 was a swing round but he generally outboxed the Kazakh fighter there.
After 6 rounds of nothing I just wanted Gutknecht to go out and force the action and try to KO the Hungarian, and he did try.Starting with round 7 he started putting pressure on and landing on the slowing Balszay. While he was still getting hit I thought he got the better of the last 6 rounds winning all of them with 1-2 swing rounds maybe so in the end I had it a draw 114-114 but seldom do I see one guy winning the first 6 and the othr guy winning the last 6.Fight could have gone either way.
The Kazakh however was not impressive and makes to many mistakes to keep his 0 for long.
The Hungarian is back to the drawing board.

I was quite sure that the Hungarian would win that fight.I was wrong, obviously.Gutknecht had failed to impress me up to his victory over Balzsay.I still dont think that he has the talent, tools, willpower, and determination to excel in his choosen profesion and capture a world title and defend it several times.
He showed a very poor performance while I watched him fight a German journeyman named Pavlak or Pawlek or........whatever.
My gut feeling somehow tells me that he lacks the necessary mental toughness to be a big player in this game.
