Will Bernard rise from the ashes after his shock defeat to kiko martinez?

Maybe, but the warning signs were there prior to the Martinez fight. Also, is he does look to come again he best stay well clear of Martinez who I believe who do the same again.

Welcome to ESB goldenboy! :hi:
That was a shocker - his first loss and down twice in the first round.
There could be a lot of explanations why he got caught like that so early - perhaps he hadn't warmed up properly, etc
I hope he bounces back.

Or perhaps Martinez, as his record suggests, hits bloody hard. Or Dunne, as has been shown on a couple of occassions, doesnt have the best chin (he's been wobbled a couple of times).

Martinez is the real deal and only 21 but I didn't want to be too harsh about Dunne. Think they were both unbeaten going into that fight and even with Martinez exceptional KO rate I was stunned it was all over so quickly!
1 loss does not end a career and no doubt he can come again.
whether he is good enough for world level is another story but no shame in being a domestic & european level fighter and still a good career to be made and money to be earned.

I doubt he's gonna be a legit world champion but he should be a decent pro and might be able to do well against less heavy handed fighters.

It was one of the funniest things I've seen in years.
It was bizzare. Before the fight the MC riled the fans for at least 10 mins to whip up an atmosphear. Then, after Martinez got in the ring it wasa good 5-10 mins before Dunne finally arrived. By which time the crowd were frenzied... next thing you know, bang crunch wallop - its over.
The arena went into stunned silence, a few things were thrown at the ring, and people left. I remember one paddy in the bog after the fight, saying "this piss is lasting longer then that fight, its cost me about 2 euros a scond to watch that". I didnt want to tell him it was his own fault for drinking in the bar instead of watching the undercard (which an alarming ammount of the supporters did, and do everywhere).
Bernard made a brief appearence in the after party, but he was deeply dissapointed and it wasnt helped by some guys chanting "theres only one bernard dunne" as it drew attention to him. He said "hello hello goodbye" and made a sharp exit.
Good luck to him for the future, hopefuly he'll learn form the fight and comeback.
Hobson has signed Martinez hasnt he... hopefuly we'll see him defend his euro title on some of Clintons undercards etc..

Dunne does a lot of things well, but his defence and chin have always been open to question. There's not much you can do about having a suspect chin, but you can reduce the chances of getting hit on it too much with a cleverer defence.
He can still do alright for himself, but unlikely to get to the very top.
