i honestly thought with his comments after the spinks fight he would duck pavlik. i was so certain of it at the time

but it seems like he is going to fight him.

I had thought after his fights with hopkinsx2 and winky, that he was looking for easy fights, and that was against ouma and spinks but props to him for taking on pavlik

im well up for this fight

Taylor might be lucky at times

but he has balls

you don't fight the Old Bastard twice then WW if you lack the balls to make the big fights

even his "easy" fights have came against former world champs albeit in lower weight divisions

Yes, Bigtime props to Taylor. With Calzaghe negotiating with Kessler, he's got nowhere else to go but to fight Pavlik. Believe me, if there was another decent Middlewt. out there for him to fight, without the boxing public screaming that he's ducking Kelly, he'd take that fight in a heartbeat.

He's cornered. :yep

Kind of a shame that champions fighting their top contenders is so unusual that we actually have to give special proper respect to those that do.
But this will be a great fight, and I believe Taylor will prevail.

Taylor is dumb as fuck. He doesn't know what to do or listen to someone who does. He has shit for brains...

...but big mother fucking cajones!

FACT - every man Taylor has been a champion at some point. Pavlik will actually be his first non champ BUT he is the consensus number 1 now that Wright is going to 170.

So when Taylor beats Pavlik, what is the excuse going to be then?? - "Oh, Pavlik was just a bum anyway"

Or will it be "Oh Taylor was boring, he only jabbed his way to victory"

Because there ain't no way Pavlik beats Taylor.

I think it's going to be more like "Pavlik was green when he lost to Taylor the first time..Pavlik by KO in the rematch!!"

This isn't posted on any credible site yet. Hell it's not even on boxrec and they jump the gun the minute someone even mentions the possibility of a fight going down

Actually, Taylor deserves props for all the recent competition he has had. The problem is the way he wins, and for that he deserves none.

Well he hasn't accomplished much being the champ at the division after the Bhops and Winkly fight so got to fight his mandatory now and if succesfull maybe he needs to fight the other title holder.

He's not very impressive lately so good luck to him and hopefully he makes a statement by beating Pavlik convincingly.

Because there ain't no way Pavlik beats Taylor.

what the fuck are you talking about "ain't no way Pavlik beats Taylor"? Every puncher has a chance, and the punch Taylor seems most vulnerable to is a right hand which just so happens to be Pavlik's best punch...and Taylor backs STRAIGHT up with his hands down which is asking for a right hand right on the chops.

Jab his way to victory? :patsch Taylor hasn't done that in god knows how many fights ago.

Now your starting to make sense....Taylor has been lack luster but he has been winning and fighting some well known names, he's old school in a way.

Absolutely Taylor deserves props for taking this fight, JUST AS HE DESERVES PROPS for fighting the best as he has been.

No one in BOXING can match quality of opposition in there last six fights, Hops twice, Wright, Ouma, Spinks, and Pavlik. TAYLOR FIGHTS LIKE A CHAMPION.

Hate on him if you will, but if you disrespect the facts, it's your own foolishness. BTW, Taylor beat Pavlik in the amateur's but the PRO outcome is what means something. I respect JT but am rooting for Pavlik.

Taylor is a courageous kid. I just wish he'd be more entertaining. With his looks and personality, he has the potential to crossover into the mainstream and help bring boxing back to the general public.

Very well said...:good

I love how people talk shit about Taylor not winning his fights convincingly. I feel he is 3-1-1 in his last 5 fights...but those fights were vs Hopkins, Hopkins, Winky, Ouma and Spinks. How many fighters have fought THAT good of a list of fighters, no matter what the outcome you may feel shouldve been? How many MORE havent?
