Think he's enjoying his Pie and Mash tonight at home?
Good performance, no chance of Khan vs Prescott 2 now IMO.

Me too. I thought he was going to leave his chin too exposed and get stopped later from accumulation. Never came close to happening, as it turned out.

Yup, wanna see Mitchell vs Murray, Good domestic matchup after Murray vs Mezzache where Murray will prob get the Euro title, even though I want him to lose. Good game plan from Mitchell's team, took some shots as well.

Yep, he was great and I was wrong about how he's fare in this fight at 135. I can't believe he was so disciplined and it shows how serious he obviously is about moving up a level. Hopefully he'll get Murray next and then the winner will fight Katsidis:happy.

I've liked Kev since he had that terrific fight with Carl Johannson. Really brave, good movement, decent puncher, fast hands. He showed some versatility there tonight. That was an excellent performance. Prescott's nothing special, but if you can't beat guys like him you're unlikely to do much in the game.
I still think that Amir's going to be found wanting when he's up against another hard punching guy who can box enough and time him.

great discipline from mitchell tonight,a classy performance and great game plan.you could see him slip focus for a second or two in the later rounds, but now apparently mature enough to get straight back to business-a job well done..:good

Great performance.
But I think the commentators were going a bit overboard with the way they were describing things.
I think Prescott was in the fight almost all the way. It was clear enough win for Mitchell, but not as wide as the judges and Jim Watt had it. I thought Mitchell dropped 4 rounds at least.

It was far from a great performance. I think the cards were too wide. He never let his hands go.
It was a Haye v Valuev performance and the win is good but the performance average at best. Like Haye, he showed if he let his hands go he could hurt his guy.
He should have killed his body to slow him down. If you are going to move, at least move behind a good jab.
He did show on a couple of occassions that his chin looks solid.

I've got to admit i was really impressed by Kevin's fitness - I didn't think he'd be able to keep up the franetic movement beyond the first 5 rounds.
Good job Kev! Now take on Murray.

Yup, wanna see Mitchell vs Murray,
Murray won't go anywhere near Mitchell...Kevin is not close to retiring, and his KO % is above 20%

Was a decent performance - hats off. Prescott is one dimensional and hopeless on the inside - if you get inside his jab he can't hit you.

Why all the calls for Murray next, why fight an eliminator for WBO then go domestic for a domestic fight. Katsidis as a final eliminator or for vacant title if JMM vacates to fight Hatton.

I've liked Mitchell since the first time ive seen him, hes a decent fighter, he'll get beat when he steps up to World Level because he'll always operate in a deep division but hes good .... For the record i think Frankie Gavin has tremendous potential, James Degale is an absolute fraud who will be exposed badly sooner or later ....

The only way prescott was in the fight until the end, was the fact he was taking wild uncultured swings in desperate hope in the end that something might connect.
It was a good disciplined performance that kev should be proud off. He gave away power, height, and reach to prescott, and used his brain.
In most other countries, i am sure that this level of tactical thinking, and composure, would be praised.
Prescott is obviously a dangerous guy, but as much as he looked a forlorn figure, i feel this was because kev took away his weapons in the end

well i take my hat off to kevin mitchell,he took a fight most people thought he would loose.he took on a very dangerous puncher ,his fitness and movement and his fight plan are not just a credit to himself but his trainers ,he was terrific and brave,he did everything his trainers had planned for the fight and more,i think burns would be glad this morning he didnt meet this kevin mitchell last night, mitchell seems also to have kept his power at lightweight and what a chin he has, well done kevin mitchell it was a pleasure to watch, the best bit of boxing ive seen in years.

I doubted Mitchell he proved me wromng. Nuff Respect, he put on a masterclass. Topman. I think Jimmy Tibbs has helped as well though, top top class old school trainer. His previous trainer cook had him fighting like a brawler, getting hit at will!

:-( Great advice fella:nut
Thought Jimmy,Mark and Kev worked it to perfection.
Cant see Murray being to keen on a Mitchell fight on that performance.

Proved me completely wrong. Great performance, I was convinced he'd get drawn into a brawl but he was disciplined and boxed soundly.

Thought he'd get dragged into a brawl but I was wrong :)
He can do the same to Katsidis too.
